Pros: The food, the pool, the entertainment
Cons: Maybe the showers could be better,
Lovely hotel and staff, can't fault the meals, great location and plenty to do, kids club and entertainment in the evening. Having a pool at the hotel is great as our daughter loves swimming. Will be back again soon

Ideal family hotel

Posted 17-Oct-2014
Pros: Excellent family oriented hotel.
Cons: A little more imagination for the buffet dinners as there was very little difference in the menu over the 3 nights we dined there.
Location: No shortage of activities for young and old. Highly recommend visiting the cairngorm reindeer, fenicular railway and highland safari park.
I've just returned from a three night stay at the Hilton Coulumbridge, with my 7 year old son and my elderly parents. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for couples looking for a romantic break, but for families with young children this hotel is perfect.

weekend break

Posted 01-Oct-2014
Pros: family friendly and good value food is good quality and drinks not too dear
Cons: needs upgraded especially the pool and out door leisure area
booked as a weekend away dinner B&B room was freshly painted clean and comfortable. Some areas of the hotel are a little tired and need a bit of investment(the hotel is on the market at the moment so watch this space ) Food is way better than you would expect but 2 nights of the same menu are perhaps enough try the bistro option. The staff we dealt with were without exception helpful polite and cheerful. A great base in Aviemore as just out with and you don't have to look at the town which isn't up to much though lots things to see and do close by .

Great location. Very helpful staff. Good food.

Posted 16-Sep-2014
Pros: Loved the location. Beautiful walks right on the doorstep.
Cons: Would have liked to book my mealtime in advance as only early or late sitting was available when we checked in.
Location: Just outside Aviemore in beautiful countryside.Ideal for all sorts of outdoor activities.
Stayed in this hotel 20yrars ago with my 3 toddlers. Visited this time with my mum. Was a bit worried it might be too geared to kids but found it cofortable, relaxing, good food, and really good staff. Lots of facilities for all the family or older people.

Stayed at hotel for a photography at Highland Park

Posted 07-Sep-2014
The hotel staff were simply excellent, and the food was top-notch too, both in the Bistro and in the main restaurant. It was a bit noisy with wedding parties, but can't really complain about that too much. The downside with these places is often due to the little things and in this case it was the bottle of water in the room, with a surcharge of nearly £4 if you opened it. Bhaa humbug, hotels should stop this kind of nonsense and provide such things free of charge. The main light didn't initially work because a switch at the far end of the room was set incorrectly and finally, as per usual, one main light bulb didn't work at all.

Great service, great food.

Overall good if you have children, but not great if you are a couple, eat in the restaurant after eight if you want some sort of relaxed meal, although the food was the best thing about the hotel it was superb, stayed dinner B&B which gave a £16 per adult allowance for dinner, and also had to pay for our 12 yr old daughter so it still cost £30-£40 a night extra to eat with a couple of drinks. The rooms were clean and serviceable but could do with an update, although stated as a climate control room when we booked, there was no air conditioning, also very expensive internet unless you can connect to the main WIFI in the lobby.

Excellent value for money.

Posted 30-Aug-2014
Pros: Location, food
Cons: Some parts of hotel looking slightly tired. Hotel has no lifts which could be a problem if elderly.
Location: Good location and only a short walk into the town. Great for walking and cycling
This was an excellent value for money deal. Hotel was good and food was excellent. We went for Dinner, B&B and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food and choice. Would certainly go back.

Personal

Posted 29-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
