summer holiday

Posted 14-Aug-2014
Pros: been before
Cons: lots of things !
Booked through expedia. Thought I had a grat deal with dinner bed and bbreakfast for the four of us, however on arrival at the hotel was told that my daughter wasnt included in the deal as she was over 11 years old and was 'classed as an adult'. No pool attendant who watched a monitor outside the pool area but seemed more interested in facebook than whether any one was needing help or not ! Pool area needs updated. Food was ok , but found that it became a slop ' as the chefs just emptied new food ontop of old food in their hot plates. Room and bar area was far too hot and we had to ask for fans to cool the room down. We were given two double beds which wasnt ideal for a brother and sister to share one with the adults in the other bed all in the same room.! Everything outside the hotel was fantastic , loch morlich, cycling, landmark, osprays etc etc . wont go back to the hotel and wont use expedia again.

Lovely family break for son's birthday. Comfortable rooms and good food. Nice relaxed feel to hotel, and enjoyed time in swimming pool. Perfect location for local amenities.

Wonderful family hotel

Had a wonderful stay here again - unfortunately the weather wasn't great but that's the great thing with coylumbridge - there's plenty to do indoors with the swimming pool, evening disco and the fun house! For dinner we opted for the family Italian buffet and the breakfast is just amazing - such a great selection!

Wonderful location Great for families

This hotel is in the Cairngorms National Park, and the setting is beautiful. The staff was helpful and friendly, and our room reservation included a free dinner and a full breakfast. The food was excellent. The play facilities for kids are outstanding, and there's even a couple of bars for the parents. The only thing that would make this hotel better would be air conditioning in the rooms and elevators. Most of the time air conditioning is probably not needed, and there are definitely heaters in the rooms. It was a bit warm during our stay, however, and the windows don't have screens and will not open completely. Otherwise, it was a great place to stay!

Had expected more of a Hilton hotel

Posted 31-Jul-2014
Pros: Nice location
Cons: Prices for food and drink should be slashed and the bedrooms urgently redecorated
If we had known we would be staying at a kids vacation club, with bedrooms in urgent need of a refurbishment, a small double bed and 5 star prices for food and drink in a hotel worthy only 3 stars max. we most probably would not have booked. In general the hotel is too exepensive for what it offers.

Family hotel in great location (needs upgrading)

Posted 22-Jul-2014
Pros: Wonderful location in the forest and close to all activities. It is family friendly with a swimming pool, activities for children and indoor play area
Cons: The hotel is old and showing its age. Needs painting and updating. There is no sound insulation at all. You can hear your neighbours word for word.
Location: In the middle of the forest and close to loads of outdoor activities. Too much to mention.
Spent a long weekend here in a double room. Great area and location could not be better.
