“Great Base for the Cairngorms”

Very good value for money. Warm welcome and good service, but slightly inconsistent - e.g. strength of breakfast coffee varied distinctly from one day to the next. Food was generally first rate. Breakfast was terrific value. Ambience in dining room was stark and overall the decor was a bit tired. The bedrooms seem to be reaching the end of their life cycle, but are still quite functional.

“Really enjoyed our stay!!! Will be back”

Really delighted with our stay in this hotel.Great facilities,very clean and friendly staff. It has a brand new restaurant which is finished to a high standard. However,the service was really slow, and food portions were minimal. It was the first week of the restaurant opening tho so plenty room for improvement..... But i would totally recommend this hotel to anyone!!!!

Area recommendations

Plenty of sightseeing to do around aviemore and the surrounding area.Terrific views of the cairngorm mountain range!!!

“At the end of a long walk”

The hotel was just what I needed at the end of a 20mile walk through the Lairig Ghru... We had a little hicup with a food order going astray but the staff sorted it out without to much fuss and removed the item from the bill to compensate for the incovenience...

“would return without hesitation”

Reception staff at check in very welcoming and helpful. Room spotless and comfortable. Dinner was good both evenings and good selection on menu. Breakfast was excellent but lacked staff first thing, some staff started their shifts at 8am and considering people that were on bus tours were all waiting to get into breakfast at the same time it was very busy indeed therefore had to wait 20minutes before getting our coffee but apart from that everything was very good indeed.

Area recommendations

We played golf at Spey Valley, cannot praise this golf course enough it was an excellent course. I can see why it is rated in the UK's top 20 courses. We walked the course which was long but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Well worth the money

“Good for families”

Coylumbridge is a great location and the family room with a separate bedroom and bunk beds made the evenings much more civilized. The children's pool was ideal and the next door soft play and adventure golf all made great wet-weather escapes. I'd go back again in a year or two.

The Insh Boathouse is a good lochside restaurant.

Family-friendly activities

For families don't miss the working sheepdog demonstration at Kincraig and the Landmark Centre at Carrbridge.

“Good value/good service”

All staff couldn't have been more helpful and nothing was too much trouble - it was great to see really good and friendly service . The family room was excellent value ; in effect 2 rooms for adults and children .

“Could be better.”

I had read the reviews and hoped they were not true but I have to agree with a lot of them, the food and drink is very expensive and not very good, for the price you pay it should be much better. I woke up both days with a sore back so that was not good. The hotel is in need of updating it has so much to offer that it should be great but does not warrant the price you pay. And I do feel that that it is bad you pay for the funhouse when you are staying in the hotel. On the plus, I loved the location, the pool was good and the staff were friendly so that was good.

“Best Halloween ever!”

Brilliant time, very busy hotel but great atmosphere and incredibly child friendly. Will definately go againd with family. If you are a quiet couple I would perhaps find it noisy but that's not what they are pitching at.

Coylumbridge is great as it is just outside Aviemore and surrounded by beutiful woods

Great party organised for young kids, gave us an hour to oursleves. Felt very safe with staff. Poll well looked after and life guard vigillant. A little busy but it was the weekend.

“nice location, friendly staff, spacious room!”

I think it says d it all in the title. close to the slopes and divers things to do in the area, very quite at night nice meal in the evening good choice on the buffet at breakfast the staff was very friendly nice swimming pool(could be a bit warmer in the jacuzzi/main pool but thats really the only thing i could say) will go bk again with the diner/room/bft deal
