"Good location, but a little worn"
This hotel is centrally located for much in the Highlands area. A great base to work from in terms of day trips. The hotel itself has seen better days, but it is certainly comfortable and you can see that some upgrades are taking place. The restaurant food was above expectations, but service was lacking. Also disappointed in the number of on-site activities. Most were closed during our stay (June 2015).

"Quiet stay, very relaxing. "
This was a night out localy toto celebrate our tenth anniversary. We had one of the recently opened Garden Rooms. Luxurious room with its own small garden terrace. Bed was extremely comfortable and we slept soundly all night. Buffet breakfast was very high quality and plentiful.

"A few niggles"
We stayed here for 1 night during our trip around the highlands. Initial impressions were very good, we received a warm welcome from Max and the reception area itself was lovely and bright and smelled really fresh. Parking wasn't an issue for us, but it is a narrow stretch down to the car park, which some guests clearly aren't confident navigating. Max showed us to our room and asked for payment in cash as he said they didn't accept card payments; contrary to the booking details which stated they accept either. Glasdair advertises 'private facilities in all rooms', but this wasn't the case with our room (number 2). Although we had our own bathroom, it was across the hallway! Luckily, a bathrobe (only one though) was provided so at least we didn't have to streak across the hall. It was a bit of a pain in the middle of the night having to robe, find the key, cross the hall, unlock the door then do it all in reverse. We had no idea of this upon booking, assuming all rooms had en suite. The bathroom was functional with a shower, loo and basin, however there was no plug for the basin and no toiletries were provided (not even a little bar of soap for hand washing). There was one hook to hang stuff on; this was held in place by a nail. Our room itself was a decent size, with a lovely view over the garden and the River Ness. A few of the fixtures had seen better days, but for the one night it was ok. Temperature wise it was just right and we had a good nights sleep (apart from

"Nice enough. Brilliant location."
Great if you want somewhere nice to stay for cheap right in the center. Huge bed which was nice. Generally looks a bit tired all around the edges, other than the bathroom which looked newer but had an odd smell. The breakfast is very nice and you have lots of choice. Friendly staff. It's pretty much as you imagine it to be for the price. I'd recommend it to anyone who is making a late booking and needs to be centrally located. Did the job for me perfectly.

"A quiet retreat "
Although the hotel is a bit off the beaten path, it is quiet and has ample parking. TIP: be sure to put the postal code of the hotel into your GPS, which will make finding it much easier. Luckily, Inverness has lots of signage for its hotels. The surroundings of the hotel are not lush, but the rooms are simple and comfortable. We had a fine dinner there, although proportions were a bit small.

"Work in a Foreign Land"
I regularly visit Inverness for work purposes and would normally stop closer to the town centre; however, on this occasion the available accommodation was minimal. The Dolphin Bay Suites was one of the few remaining places and I must admit I was very surprised and pleased with the rooms and facilities (more TVs than I have at home). I actually tried to book the same place the following week but, not surprisingly, they were all booked. I arrived late evening after the owners had left for the day but, unlike some other reports, I found the attentive nature and instructions for gaining access to my suite very straight forward. I had to make a call over the wifi code which was resolved quickly. There was even some milk in the fridge to allow that late night cup of tea until some other provisions were obtained. I would be seeking these suites out if I visited the area on a holiday, especially with a family, as there are good local facilities.
