I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Each staff member is friendly, kind, and helpful. A generous breakfast was included, and they accomodated me by serving me before hours. Housekeeping tidied my room between check in/out. Castletown Hotel is a great place to stay!

Nice stay, comfortable / toasty / quiet room, Wi-Fi occasionally a bit iffy but not a major issue, really friendly & helpful staff, enough parking & good food options (including breakfast), will definitely use again

Poor service
Entered room to what sounded like a jet engine going in the wall, was told it was pump for shower next door. Room was tired needing a very good clean and decorated. Went for a shower that night, no hot water to be had and shower was trickling. Managed to get a hot shower in the morning but again very little water flow. Contacted maintenance and was told shower wasn't right. Returned later in the day to be told the owner said its ok. Checked out early and Will not use this hotel or any hotel in the group again.

For a cheaper hotel, this was a very pleasant place to stay while completing the NC500. Room was spacious, nice powerful shower in an en-suite (not a shower over a bath). Breakfast was OK and staff were helpful and polite. Would stay again.

Lovely place, lovelier staff? can always get a table in the restaurant, food very good for the price, good breakfast as well, rooms near the road are a bit noisy but would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was large and spacious with comfortable rooms. The staff were really friendly and the hotel itself was really welcoming. The food in the restaurant was delicious. Easy and spacious car park behind the hotel, and very easy to get to. In walking distance is a heritage area, rock pools and an amazing beach. Well worth the short walk to visit.

Amazing hotel! We arrived at 9pm and had the nicest greeting ever. The room was really clean and neat. Perfect for a night sleep! The breakfast was delicious with a great selection for everyone! Would highly recommend! 10/10!

Great Food, Great Location
Great Location for ferry. We just stayed the one night with our two young kids before our ferry to Stromness in the morning. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and the food was large portions and delicious. Breakfast was available from 630am which was great as we had to get the early ferry and breakfast was good too. Sofa bed wasnt super comfortable but the normal bed was and the room was clean and tidy. Perfect for a 1 night stopover.

Great service and lovely place
Lovely greeting on arrival - service was good. Had great food (paid extra for meal) - had a curry each - each portion was more than enough to feed 2! Good place to stay whilst on NC500. Rooms were lovely and cosy, but modern - amazing shower!!!

This hotel was convenient for us because we were catching a ferry to the Orkney Islands the next day from Gills Bay. But the tiny bed was super uncomfortable - neither of us slept more than a couple of hours. Dinner was OK, not good or great.

Despite looking a bit sad externally the interior was very clean and well laid out. My room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was by far the nicest that I've had in years! The location is easy to get to and has car parking to the rear.

The staff was very accommodating, and what they could to make sure everything went well. Kudos to Emma for being able to help book various trips. However, it is advisable to book taxis as they roll up the sidewalks at 6 o’clock. It’s almost impossible to get a taxi without having it booked.

Castle Town was a pleasant surprise
The service was fantastic, friendly and efficient. We had a nice walk around the forest trails and it was nice to be in a small town versus a city.

This hotel was exceptional! The room was spacious, the staff was wonderful and helpful. Have dinner at the restaurant, was the absolute best meal I’ve ever eaten! And breakfast in the morning fully exceeded all of our expectations!
