Grand Hotel

Posted 28-Mar-2015
Pros: The majestic setting and the OUTSIDE grandeur also the staircase.
Cons: The food! We only had breakfast but it was very disappointing. Instant coffee! STEAMED bacon! which was all soggy and greasy, tinned tomatoes, kkkkkkk
Location: Excellent location

mini break

Posted 09-Mar-2015
Pros: The appearance and history of the hotel.
Cons: Rooms need a revamp please put butter beside bread and more toasting machines would be helpful.
Location: It is a short walk to sea front and likewise to shops. Perfect for everything.
My partner and i have stayed here a few times. I love the appearance and the history of the hotel, however the rooms are becoming a bit shabby. Whilst the bed was very comfortable and room size was quite adequate the bathroom and furniture were very worn. We were disturbed a couple of times with dogs barking i am a dog lover and have one myself but i dont wish to share my hotel with them [ our preferences ]. At breakfast you can certainly not fault the staff clearing tables quickly and very helpful but and it might have just been when we were there water was'nt hot enough for tea need more toasting machines please, and why is'nt the butter beside the bread? There is entertainment on a night including bingo plenty to do.

Midweek Break

Posted 02-Mar-2015
The hotel was OK the lift was a problem as there was only one which was slow and busy The sea view would have been much better if the windows had ever been cleaned in the last 6 months Heating in the room only one radiator worked, The bed was big but lumpy The room was clean and quiet Breakfast buffet was OK with food quality average, coffee poor Overall the break was worth it

The entertainment wasn't on long enough and the queues for the bar and for breakfast were ridicules so I would say it was poor

Valentine break

Posted 16-Feb-2015
Stayed for one night in the room without a view, room spacious and clean, can image these get really hot in the summer, mattress hard not soft, towels were the size of tea towels, breakfast was ok. Nice to have proper orange juice not watered down as some hotels do. Bar prices can be expensive. Parking a nightmare, just go straight to the Palm Court car parking, £10 for 24 hours. The Grand is quite central to the shops, bars and eating out.
