This hotel still allows smoking in some rooms

Posted 22-Apr-2014
Pros: My family and I enjoyed the indoor pool and the free breakfast.
Cons: This hotel isn't very big (two floors), so smokers could easily to go outside. The hotel could stop allowing smoking in its rooms.
Location: The hotel is right off the I-40, right next to a McDonalds, and across the street from a Denny's.
This was not my first stay at this hotel. I've been pleased in the past. However, I booked a non-smoking room for Easter weekend through Expedia, for which I had a confirmation, but when I got to there, the hotel could only put me and my family, including my two small children, in a smoking room. The room reeked, even with the "Ozone" technology the hotel claimed was in the room. The room also had noticeable burn marks on the bed covers, lamp shade, and tub. The hotel staff blamed Expedia, and said that a non-smoking room should never have been offered to me. Still, my sister, who was also staying at this hotel, had the same experience and she booked online directly through the hotel's own website. On the plus side, the indoor pool was great and very clean. Also, all the public areas were clean and comfortable. The hotel did move us into a non-smoking for our second night's stay and gave us a price break on the first night we had to spend in the smoking room.

I'm impressed!

Pros: Monica and breakfast. :)
Cons: The luggage cart and ice machine.
This hotel was a welcome stop on our road trip. I was very impressed by Monica at the front desk who noticed my mom's military ID and gave us the best discount possible - AND thanked her for serving. The staff left a handwritten welcome note that awaited us in our room. Although the ice machine was broken, the hotel staff provided ice the night we were there (they ran out by morning, however.) The only problem we had was the luggage cart had a glitchy wheel that made moving our luggage a challenge. A fellow traveler helped us out to the car.

Very nice hotel

If you happen to be visting the North Fork Correctional Center stay here! This hotel is only a few minutes from the prison! If not... then I would have to say that it's just a little pricey and would recommend staying in Elk City. The rooms are clean, the staff is very helpful, the breakfast is great. The location is right off the freeway and Dennys and a little store are right across the street.

A very nice hotel to stay in

The AmericInn Sayre is a very nice place to stay overall. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff are professional and friendly. The internet service provided, while wired-only, is fast and hassle-free. The TV's are older tube-type, but they have a lot of channels. There is a bar onsite, as well as a great breakfast offering. The entire place is very family friendly, with a very nice indoor pool area. The only drawbacks (hey, every place has some), is that you are literally in the middle of nowhere, and I liked that! The only business close to this hotel is the truck stop across the highway. Sayre, the town, is about a mile to the north, as this hotel is right on I-40. The only things this hotel needs is property-wide Wi-Fi, refrigerators and/or microwaves in the rooms, and some more comfortable chairs in the rooms. Other than that, and I will say that all of those things are minor, this is an absolutely great hotel to stay in, and at a much better price than staying in Elk City to the east a few miles. Drive on a few miles west on I-40, and you will find a very nice place to spend the night on your trip. (Or, stop in Sayre before you get there if you're traveling East!)

The hotel lobby has a western (rustic) theme that was very nice, room was spacious and a very comfortable bed. A definite "recommend"
