Ok budget hotel in an expensive area.

Posted 05-Jul-2014
Pros: Free breakfast, indoor pool, elevator.
Cons: Cleanliness, smoking near entry door.
Location: Beach, casino, antiques, fruit markets, upscale clothing, tourist activities, water sports, restaurants.
The prices here seem really high for a Super 8, but it's a pricey vacation area. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable, and so were the pillows. It was difficult to get the temperature right in the room. For having been renovated not that long ago, the place seemed kind of worn out. But again, this is a budget hotel in an area where everything is pretty expensive. It served our needs. I'm not sure I'd stay there for a week or something, though.

Convenient access to Michigan's wine country

Posted 04-Jun-2014
Pros: The location: near Michigan wine country and the Indiana dunes. Right off the interstate, so very easy to find.
Cons: The bathroom could use an update.
Location: There isn't much immediately around the hotel, but several wineries are just a short drive away. Also, St. Joseph and the Indiana dunes.
The hotel was nothing fancy, but the location made it easy to visit several wineries in Southwest Michigan, along with St. Joseph and the Indiana Dunes. The room was clean and comfortable, and they had our keys waiting for us when we arrived so check in was a breeze. Again, nothing fancy, but decent accommodations if you are looking for something affordable within easy driving distance of the Southwest Michigan attractions.

Cozy and cheap :)

Posted 28-Apr-2014
Pros: comfy bed and pillows, proximity to Greenbush Brewery.
Cons: Bathroom toilet needs fixing.
Location: Greenbush Brewery, Journeyman Distillery, beaches, close to Chicago.
Great bed, decent free breakfast, stumbling distance (literally) to Greenbush Brewery. Only small problem was our room had a leaky toilet that made the bathroom really musty smelling- we shut the door and left the fan running while we were out, which helped. If they fixed that, I'd give the place a 5! Seriously, a great bed and pillows, especially for the price! We didn't realize they have an indoor pool, which was heated and looked good, too. Very nice staff, always a bonus!

Close to brewery & wineries!

Posted 21-Apr-2014
Pros: Its nice to see a Super 8 with a pool! The rooms were nice. Much nicer quality than I ever would have expected from a Super 8!
Cons: The breakfast. I know its free, but could have had fresh bananas and maybe yogurt.
Location: A block from Greenbush Brewery. Great food and excellent beer! It was a very comfortable walk from the hotel! Safe driving distance from wineries.
The hotel was in close driving distance to multiple wineries and walking distance from a brewery. The free breakfast could have been better. All of the bananas were bad and there were limited options. But the cereal was good.

Spent two nights here while making trip to go to a Notre Dame football game. Not too far out of the way. Room was great. Breakfast left a little to be desired. Overall, very pleased with stay.

Sawyer Super 8

Posted 06-Nov-2013 on Hotels.com
Rooms were okay... if you don't like much sleep. Loud people in the hallway and someone set an alarm in an adjacent room that was going off in the middle of the night. Breakfast was okay until I spotted a cockroach on the ceiling.

How to Beat the High South Bend prices on Gamedays

Posted 06-Nov-2013 on Hotels.com
If you don't nind a 45 min. commute, you have a winner here. With clean comfortable rooms and a fine breakfast , you can have a great stay without sky high South Bend prices. Our group of eight had a great time and didn't miss any of the Notre Dame football events either.
