“Super service but some small niggles”

I enjoyed staying in this well-located hotel with very helpful, friendly staff. However, there were a few problems with the room, though small, were irksome. The toilet was effectively squeezed into a cupboard which was fairly caustrophobic.The sink had a faulty plug and there was no mirror apart from in the bathroom which isn't ideal when one is sharing a room. I would also like to mention that the breakfasts were wonderful and finish this review on a high note. I

“Ideal location.”

Hotel ideally situated for exploring Saumur, being very central. Good access to the Loire Valley, and surrounding area,(recommend the Zoo at Doue-la-Fontaine.) Our room was compact but clean and comfortable. Breakfast, only OK, best to eat early, as some items weren't replenished for later guests. We decided against having their breakfast on our second day, getting excellent croissants from a shop a few yards away. Would definitely consider using hotel again.

Area recommendations

Zoo at Doue, was excellent. (Adults 16€). Montreuil-Bellay worth a visit, (Picturesque park by river, Chateau and gardens). Saumur itself a great place to explore, recommend 'Le Grand Bleu' restaurant for general fare and seafood in particular.

“Schöne Stadt, empfehlenswertes Hotel”

Das Hotel liegt citynah an einer sehr belebten Straße, Lärmbelästigung bleibt daher nicht aus, wenn die Fenster geöffnet sind. Es empfielt sich eine vorherige Parkplatzreservierung. Frühstück (Buffet) fällt für franz. Verhältnisse reichhaltig aus.

“Bien situé - du charme (en cours de finition)”

Bon hotel en cours de rénovation - il reste encore des travaux à réaliser (ex : notre salle de bain, la porte d'entree de la chambre, le tapis de l'escalier qui monte à l'accueil) Petit déj un peu leger compte tenu du prix
