“Noise, noise , noise”

It's difficult to be satisfied with your hotel when you can't sleep due to noise. We stayed in room 202 at this hotel which as we found out later was right above the pub. In the wee hours (midnight to 3:00 AM) we heard amplified sounds resembling sliding or rolling furniture, banging, and on Saturday night, singing). It took us awhile to figure out what was causing the noise. What was peculiar was that the hotel staff didn't seem to know what we were talking about when we first brought it to there attention (sort of like they didn't know about there ever being a problem re Rm 202), and furthermore, they said they checked it out and couldn't detect any noise. When we later determined on our own that the noise was coming from the Pub, the staff at the front desk basically agreed, and in a stuffy, holier than thou attitude, mentioned that they weren't able to "do anything for us". Too bad they gave us this room when they knew we were there for 4 nights (including the weekend). I got the feeling that hotel management and staff don't really care. Oh, to get back home and get a decent nights sleep!!
