Bay View Bar & Grill - Waterfront grill set among swaying palms. Local ingredients featured in Caribbean-influenced menu that also includes tropical drinks and fruit smoothies. Open for lunch and poolside service from mid morning to late afternoon, Tuesday through Saturday.

Cà d'Zan Bar - Named after John Ringling's bayfront Sarasota mansion. Paneled in hickory; overstuffed couches and leather club chairs. Upscale selection of bar foods and drinks, including two dozen martinis. Open daily from mid afternoon till late evening, with entertainment nightly.

Lobby Lounge - Afternoon tea served on Wedgwood china. Cocktails and other beverages served throughout the day. Walls showcase fine art; a guitarist or harpist provides entertainment during afternoon tea service.

“Ritz Carlton”

Horel was OK. Food very mediocre. Breakfast returnes as it was cold and there was no charge. Ate in the Beach Club one night. Food ok but no atmosphere as very few people were there. Overall the hotel was spoilt by a complete lack of atmosphere, so much so that after our first night and morning experience we ate out for breakfast and dinner. There are great places to eat in Sarasota and it was the far better and cheaper option.

Area recommendations

All of Sarasota and Siesta Key. Great beaches, very good theatre, excellent places to eat and sunshine.

“Best hotel stay ever!”

We thought with this being the ritz that we would have a great experience, but our stay here FAR exceeded our expectations. The staff was so friendly - but not at all annoying. From the front desk to housekeeping, everyone was so great! The private beach club was AMAZING! They had a big kiddie pool area that had cabanas which was perfect for us since we had our 20 month old daughter. We had such a great experience here we decided to make it an annual trip - (and I decided to write my first review ever!

Area recommendations

Phillippie creek oyster bar is a MUST! Crab & fin was also great. Don't go to Marina Jacks - we were extremely disappointed!

“Best service I have ever had!”

This Ritz- Carlton experience blew my mind. My husband and I received welcome glasses of champagne ad bottled water upon our 3pm check in. We bought the cheapest room possible, not expecting that every guest room has a private balcony and a view. We were also thrilled when we learned that we also had access to the Ritz' private beach club in Lido key which is just 5 minutes away. So not only did we get to enjoy our hotel with views of the marina, we also got to enjoy another Ritz resort right on the beach! When we arrived we were set up by the pool with towels, a pitcher of water, and were offered to take our picture. Then we swam in the ocean where a group of dolphins swam 25 feet from us. Amazing time and will be back!

“Sarasota Ritz Hotel Stay”

We were not able to check into our room until 6pm. Did not get the king bed room we reserved. We were told they overbooked and were put into a room with 2 double beds. Room also had adjoining doors so at about 1030pm our drunk neighbors returned from the wedding they had attended and we were unable to go to sleep until we called management. We were then up at 730am when our neighbors were because we heard their wake up call and them talking. The hotel mgmt was of no help and did nothing to try and accomodate our stay.

“Wonderful hotel”

The hotel staff was extremely accommodating. They were able to provide for all our needs. There was plenty of personnel happy to help with everything. The room was very nice with an interesting view. The private beach and pool were great. The food at the venue was excellent. And the location was near to all cultural venues.

Area recommendations

Downtown Sarasota is best if you like cultural activities such as opera or shows.

Events and shows

The Sarasota Opera was wonderful. Even though we are used to the Met, we thoroughly enjoyed this production.

“great father/daughter experience”

Area recommendations

Siesta key beach was wide with the softest sand. Even though it was a little chilly there was a lot of activities going on. My daughter saw a large crocodile sand sculpture and proceeded to build her very own fort. We shopped at St. Armonds circle and had a wonderful time. We went to Mote Marine and Jungle Gardens. The flamingoes were the hit there eating morsels from your hand. The pirate themed minature golf course was the nicest i had ever played. The owners were attentive and friendly. My daughter wanted to play every day. Our trip was five days but we could have stayed for much longer. Even though we stayled at the Ritz, we had Papa Johns delivered three nights because Mom wasnt there to tell us we couldnt. And when my daughter dropped the pizza box, we pretended we were eating lasagna. A special father/daughter time.

“Would definitely stay again.”

Overall our stay was excellent despite the two issues upon getting into our room. The staff is very courteous and accomodating. Our stay was definitely the highlight of our visit to Florida.

You definitely want to visit the Ritz Carlton Beach Club out on Lido Beach. Nice beach and again very courteous staff.

“Great Hotel”

The hotel is impressive. Their private beach club is beatiful. The views, service and food were all outstanding. I would definitely stay there again.
