“In my opinion it is way too expensive”

My cell phone was stolen from the lobby and I was not at all impressed with the way the matter was handled. I kept telling different people what happened and they never got back to me. There was never a formal interview with the hotel security about how it happened or anything. The answer was that the place where it got stolen from was a blind spot in their security cameras and there was nothing they could do.

The safety and security of guests of Grand Hyatt Sao Paolo and their personal belongings is extremely important to us and taken very seriously. At the time of the complaint our security team was immediately called to investigate the case. According to internal footage, no compromising image(s) was/were detected and this information was promptly passed on. In addition, the entire hotel team was informed of the situation and was asked to be on the alert in case the cell phone was found, which unfortunately did not happen. We very much regret any loss of confidence in our hotel you may have experienced and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again soon.

“Fabulous hotel with a bitter aftertaste!”

The Sao paulo Grand Hyatt was wonderful. The rooms were excellent, clean and well designed. The service during our stay was faultless and the restaurant food sublime. Here comes the 'but' ...fortunately my colleague checked her credit card transactions whilst we were still there and discovered that she had been charged R$815 when the stay had been fully paid for through Expedia. We pointed this out and I asked them to ensure that the same had not been done on my credit card too. They assured us that it was some sort of freak mistake and would be reversed immediately. When I returned home I realised that the same R$815 had been charged to my credit card. The young lady assisting us has not been in touch and the amount has not been reversed as yet, 21 days later. I have had to call Brazil from South Africa and speak to a manager in order to get feedback. Not good enough Hyatt!

“One star service”

The hotel was great, but the service was poor. I went outside to use the pool and have lunch, but was told the pool area was full and was turned away. I then got recommendations for a museum from the concierge and asked to be certain the place was open as it was a holiday and was assured it was. I again asked a bell staff on the way out and was assured it would be open. After paying $50 to a cab to get there, the museum was closed due to the holiday. When I informed the staff of this, I was told, "oh". I then asked for dinner recommendations and the same thing happened!

During summer time, the hotel external swimming pool might get at times very busy , we have taken action to reinforce the staff and create alternative external areas beside the pool. We have 3 other restaurant facilities at the hotel, the Japanese restaurant Kinu also features external dining area with pool view as a nice alternative to the pool bar. We hope to have you back here at the hotel soon to give you a special attention and offer a nice experience at our pool. We really regret the problem with the museum opening time, as a standard procedure, our concierge team should have called to double check the dates and schedules. Please accept our sincere apologies on behalf of the whole team. We look forward to have you back in our hotel some day.
