We stayed here for our first two nights in Brazil on a trip to the World Cup. The place was inexpensive for the quality of room and location in an upmarket central area. We were near lots of great restaurants and bars and had a great time in the evenings. The hotel had a small pool on the roof but unfortunately the weather wasn't good enough for us to use it. The buffet breakfast was a good size for a small city hotel and the staff were very helpful. Our room was spacious with a huge TV and a nice kitchenette.

Checking in was hard. Receptionist insisted that expedia didn't forward my booking even when I showed the confirmation from expedia. She insisted that I would pay. After almost an hour finally another staff arrived and acknowledged my booking confirmation receipt from expedia.
Other thing was the leak in the bathroom was fixed after a day and a half so I had to use all the towels.
HK also doesn't leave enough towels n replace used ones. I had to ask her but maybe because of the language barrier.
Room was very comfortable with a tiny living room and mini kitchen.
Will definitely go back.
Expedia hotels are quite reasonable and recommendable
Green Grass is a smaller hostel and the amenities were good but not amazing: we stayed in an 8-person room, and there were about five shared bathrooms to be shared by all hostelers. There's some great art on the walls both in and out. It's very close to the Belem station on the red line which is quite convenient. However, Gabriel, the owner, was what really made our one-night stay incredible. Upon arriving, he was super friendly and welcoming and helped bring our bags up and get settled in. He also took us to the airport the next morning for a really good cost in the hostel's new VW van - riding in style! We had some minor trouble with the Brazilian airline we were flying and he took the time to call for us (as none of us spoke Portuguese) and got outraged when the airline rep hung up on him - twice - but promised to talk to the airline agent for us the next day at the airport. I really really recommend this hostel because of Gabriel's excellent service.
