We had a great time at the Fairmont. Staff was great, daily breakfast was good also. The hotel is in a quieter part of Bali, which we liked, not too far many attractions. Only thing which was a little annoying was that they charged for a roll away bed, I have stayed at many other upscale hotels and they have never charged. But other than that we had a great time, and would stay here again.

Was after a quite relaxing break and Mahagiri fit the bill perfectly. 5 min walk to all the shopping you need , Bar's & restaurants. 10 min walk to the beach which is one of the better ones in Bali. Good spot to base yourself head north to Ubud or if your there to party hard head south to Kuta.
We stayed here 1st time a few weeks ago when we arrived in Bali and loved it! After 3 weeks of travel we had 4 days left and asked ourselves if there was anywhere in Bali we could go where would it be... The answer was too easy! Sudamala!
If you want sanctuary, romance and luxury at incredible prices don't hesitate (however I am worried saying all this will encourage too many people and the prices will rise!!!)
Staff awesome. Really efficient and special mention to lintang who my daughter loved but didn't get to say goodbye to! Close to beach and so many restaurants. Minor issues with room safe not working and mentioned to reception but no one came to fix. Also pool light in our delxe plunge pool didn't work. The balcony light went off automatically at 10pm which we found really annoying as we like to sit on the balcony whilst our daughter sleeps- maybe they could fix this as I don't know how it would effect anyone else just by having a balcony light on??? They need to hav some pool view rooms with king size beds as me and hubby ended up sharing single bed as the king size room we were initially in had music on till 1am and really loud at that! Overall the hotel and staff were great- lovely stay and wud definitely stay again.
I stayed for a week in June with my husband in the new deluxe wing on 3rd floor. The have a lift as well as stairs which are not steep. Our room was lovely and big and very quiet. Perhaps the mattress was a bit hard but not enough to complain about. The water pressure in our shower was very poor at first but after complaining they sent someone who said they fixed it but it was still the same and we thought we would just have to put up with it because we really liked our room location but I mentioned it again to the front desk and this time they fixed it and we had perfect water pressure. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very nice. There were quite a few nights with music on the beach. A jazz band and singers another night. We swam in the middle pool as it was near our room or the back pool because it had lots of free chairs and shade. Great for walks along the beach and good restaurants like The Wicked Parrot, The Glasshouse and Kayu Manis within walking distance. We missed the Beach Barbie at the Griya but it looked fantastic. I had read previous reviews that said it was full of middle aged people but we saw young couples, families and retirees. A nice mix.

THE PROPERTYWhen you arrive on the shores of Bali you will be overwhelmed by her breathtaking beauty and her magical people …More
the hotel is old and a bit tired but makes up for this with its position on the beach only yards away from the large freeform pool. There are plenty of sunbeds by the pool and hundreds on the beach with all the amenities you could wish for. A short walk up the drive brings you to many shops, bars, and restaurants, we found a beach bar called Retro very good value for money, turn right facing the sea and walk along past the water sports area.
The leisurely pace of Sanur makes it a popular choice for families and those after a taste of the quiet life. A broad range of accommodation is represented along the coastline, which curves gently around a lagoon protected by a spectacular coral reef. The sheltered nature of the beach makes it ideal for swimming and a host of water sports. Regular public transport runs to and from Denpasar well into the night.
