“Great Little Hideaway”

This hotel has the most spectacular views on Santorini. The views from the restaurant are breathtaking. Our "villa" was a two-level with a bedroom upstairs and a kitchenette and sitting area downstairs. We loved our own private pool. The hotel staff was fabulous! The location is a bit isolated, but definitely worth the stay. Hike up past the hotel to the two wonderful churches perched on top of the hill for some memorable photo ops.

Hike up past the hotel to the two wonderful churches perched on top of the hill for some memorable photo ops. The town of Oia is one of the most photographed in Greece. It has great shops and restaurants. Do NOT miss the sunset at Oia!

“etwas außer- und oberhalb von imerovigli fühlt man sich wie im himmel.”

das hotel liegt etwas außerhalb von imerovigli. fast an der schmalsten stelle der insel. vom hotel und vor allem vom restaurant kann man die halbe insel und beide seiten des wassers sehen. das frühstück (und wenn man will alle mahlzeiten) finden sozusagen im himmel statt. direkt am kraterrand gelegen, sieht man vom hotel aus oia und imerovgli, den sonnenuntergang und die vielen schiffe der kaldera. dadurch, dass es etwas außerhalb von imerovigli liegt, ist es himmlisch ruhig. die in anderen bewertungen kritisierte zufahrt wurde bis auf einige meter neu hergestellt. wir sind überwiegend am kraterrand spaziert, mit dem bus oder taxi gefahren. der service der managerin und der anderen angestellten ist nicht zu überbieten. zwei mal täglich gibt es ein kostenloses fira-schuttle. das personal reserviert auch restaurantplätze und organisiert den transfer; es gibt unzählige ausflugsmöglichkeiten, zu denen man vom hotel abgeholt und zurückgebracht wird, so dass man kein auto braucht. das uns angekündigte zimmer mit poolblick war ein studio über zwei etagen mit meer- und poolblick. das restaurant bietet vorzügliche mediterrane gerichte. in angenehmer weise nicht griechisch. unsere last-minute-entscheidung war alles in allem ein volltreffer. wir kommen wieder.

Area recommendations
imerovigli. der schönere ort mag oia sein, aber der ist zu weit ab "vom schuss". die hauptstadt fira ist zu laut und zu überlaufen. imerovigli selbst hat nicht viel zu bieten, aber die lage am kraterrand zwischen den beiden orten, die man unbedingt erkunden muss (und ohnehin zu fuß) ist ideal. wers nicht so ruhig mag, sollte sich etwas weiter in richtung fira/firostefani suchen, wers ruhig mag, sollte das pantheon wählen.
