“Thanks for a happy time”

I stayed in room 2 for 3 nights. The room was very clean and quiet, with its own smal balcony. The bathroom was a big small but adequate and very neat. Staff were all very kind and helpful. Also the breakfast was big and very delicious. Overall I had a very happy time there, would recommend to everybody.

“Lovely hotel”

I thought this hotel was great value for money. The room was large and beautifully decorated. Friendly staff. I fair hike up to the main part of town but not too far away, and it meant it was nice and quiet. We would definitely stay there again if I went back to Thira.

“great place”

Very nice. great place to stay. Breakfast was an extra 6E, but it was worth it. It is a 15 minute (uphill) walk from the main part of town, but that made it nice and quiet.

“Great little place”

We had a great experience at the hotel, the owener was very welcoming and helpful, he gave us a map of the island and told us what to see and do, we had a lovely stay here.

“A pleasant stay”

I only stayed here for two nights but it was long enough to know that Galatia Villas was a good choice. The villas themselves are clean, comfortable and well maintained and the building is beautiful. Steep hill up to main road but other than that an easy 5-10min walk into Thira. Great value and made to feel very welcome by the owners. Go there!

“Good value for money”

The owner of the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Room was spotless clean when we arrived. Very close to the city centre, about 5 to 10 minutes walk. Very good value. Would recommend to anyone who is going to stay in Santonrini.

“Familiäres Hotel in ruhiger Umgebung”

Galatia Villas ist ein hübsches kleines Hotel, dem man die liebevolle familiäre Leitung anmerkt. Sauberkeit und Service waren hervorragend, lediglich unser Bad kriegt einen Punktabzug, weil es so winzig war. Das Hotel liegt am Rand von Thira, zu Fuß braucht man ca. 8 min bis ins Zentrum. Da die Umgebung ins ländliche geht, sollte man sich nicht daran stören, wenn einen die Hähne des Nachbarn oder die Esel, die zum Calderarand getrieben werden mit ihren Schreien wecken. Ansonsten ist das Hotel aber erstaunlich ruhig, von den anderen Gästen hat man trotz ständiger Vollbelegung kaum etwas gehört.

Area recommendations
Santorin im Frühling ist ideal zum Wandern. Man kann sich kaum verlaufen, die Vegetation ist atemberaubend, und es wimmelt noch nicht vor Touristen aus aller Herren Länder. Abseits der Hauptstraßen ist man zum Teil völlig allein mit sich und der Natur. Absolut empfehlenswert ist ein Ausflug zum Vulkan und den heißen Quellen.
Getting around
Da ich einen Wanderurlaub gemacht habe, kann ich die Fortbewegung zu Fuß wärmstens empfehlen. Santorin ist so klein, dass man es sich "erwandern" kann. Als Wanderer sieht man viel mehr von den "kleinen Schönheiten" der Insel, die Natur ist atemberaubend, und man kann überall spektakuläre Aussichten genießen, die dem hastigen Touristen im Mietwagen verborgen bleiben. Als Ergänzung zu den Touren kann ich die öffentlichen Busse empfehlen. Die fahren regelmäßig und zum kleinen Preis von A nach B.
