“Would definitely stay again!”
Hidden amongst the cobbled streets (take a rucksack rather than wheeled case!) this lovely hotel is perfectly located for exploring Oia. The pool and shaded terraces provide an oasis from the midday sun. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. The owners are a welcoming French family, so expect tasty pastries as well as the normal for breakfast. Would definitely recommend to others and return ourselves.
“Peace an tranquility in bustling OIA”
We loved the Aethrio. It's a lovely whitewashed complex with a nice efficiencies around a beautiful pool, dining area and office. It's right in the heart of OIA with great views and walking distance to the city, but quiet and tranquil, so it's a great refuge from OIA when it gets crazy. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They added to an already wonderful stay going the extra distance to make our stay special. Breakfast is a god quality continental breakfast with the addition of exceptionally good Greek yogurt.
“Perfect Location - terrific value”
No Caldera view, but otherwise perfect. Very friendly staff, great pool, great rooms. For the money, it was better than I expected in every way.
“Not the best, but great location”
In the bedroom/bathroom there was permanent smell of urine for the entire time we were there. We did complain to the owners but all they said that they will have the cleaning folks take extra care, did not even bother to come take a look. It is quite far from Fira, however it is very centrally located in Oia and is very well located. Rooms were big and the pool is really nice. There's not much in the way of a view from the room, we later found out that there much were better hotels for fair prices in the picturesque village of Imerovigli in Santorini island on the highest spot of the Caldera with rooms with breathtaking view of the volcano, the sunset, and the Aegean sea. Imerovigli village is an extension of Fira but is situated on a higher cliff.
“Wonderful Hotel in Oia”
Our stay at Aethrio was incredible. We had to make last minute changes to our reservation due to a strike and Aethrio was very accomodating and helped us as much as they could. The hotel is great. It's in Oia which is a beautiful part of Santorini. One thing to note is that the reception desk is not open 24 hours so if you need to check in at odd hours, be sure to make arrangements with the hotel.
“Location, Location, Location”
We suspect that the cooler weather had something to do with the dampness in our room. This said, the room, while quaint, was not a comfortable as we would have liked and the shower was deficient. Besides the prime location, the breakfast was very good.
“Clean and well located”
We went for two night in october 2009. Alice was wonderfull and helped us with things to do and see. Room (appartment) was large and clean and the complex is well maintained, extremely well located in the small streets of Oia. We would have appreciated a little more compfort and decoration in the rooms and the bathroom was screaming for renovations but was clean. Basic but comfortable, in the heart of Oia and in a very well maintained complex.
“Definitely recommended!”
This hotel was a lovely place to stay! It's off the main tourist street, so it's quiet, but a quick walk around a corner brings you right to all the action. The rooms are clean and bright, the "Sunset Terrace" offers great views, the pool is a perfect place to relax, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended!
“Lovely little hotel”
Lovely hotel with great service, breakfast, sunset terrace and pool. We loved the location-Oia is very pretty and peaceful and seemed a lot less congested than Fira. There were doors from the breakfast room leading right into the town center which I thought was cool. I loved the style of the hotel-being what I thought was more traditional Greek island housing with the white walls and roofs and terracotta pots. The rooms were pretty basic and the bed a bit hard but we encountered hard beds in all 3 hotels we stayed in while in Greece. We had a little kitchenette with a stove, sink and mini fridge which we used to stock some beer, wine and water. The bus stop was close by and taxis were about 25 euros to the airport / ferry port. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Aethrio.
“Good location hotel”
Quality of services were higher than expected. The atmosphere was superb and the best location to see sunset from the provided sun-terrace.
