“Europa Hotel Boutique”
Fine experience, clean, courteous staff, good location
“I will definitely go back...!!!”
This was my first time visiting Dominican Republic, I decided to stay at this hotel for the location ( Zona Colonial). Well, I was very impressed. The staff is simply amazing; they will kindly help you with anything you need. The rooms are very clean and confortable and the buffet breakfast they serve is good enought. the location of the hotel is very convinient if you are planning to visitthe historical sites; everything is close by including very good restaurants like Pat'e Palo almost around the corner. when I go back to Santo Domingo I will stay at this hotel again.
“Good ,but not Great”
Wanted to coment, that I was supposed to be picked up by a shutle bus at the Airport and taken to the Hotel and viceversa and it nevr happenned;had to take and pay for a Taxi both ways!!!
“Will Return Again”
My first trip to the Dominican Republic was quite enjoyable. Traveling alone, I wanted to get a feel of the local life, and staying at the Europa Hotel Boutique provided just that. Old historic and worn buildings. Narrow torn-up streets(no traffic signs) Fantastic food and warm, helpful people. Night spots, restaurants and historic sites are all within walking distance(
“Not bad at all”
The hotel was walking distance to all the historical sites because cab rides will take advantage of u here! The hotel has that miami hotel feel to it..modern feel to it with all the white walls& white curtains &neon lites..security is also good that way nobody can come in & out. there was even a breakfast buffet on top..not much 2 choice from but was good & saves you money cuz everything is expensive! Everything!
“Good For A Tight Budget”
This hotel is good if you are on a tight budget. It was a really good deal for me because the room came with breakfast. The hotel staff was friendly. Don't look for this hotel to look the way it does online.
“Great option for travelers on a budget”
Europa Hotel Boutique is in the Zona Colonial of Santo Domingo, and has a great location close to all the main attractions in that neighborhood. Less than a 5 minute walk to Alcazar de Colon, Calle el Conde, and Ruinas de San Francisco, among others. The staff is incredible. The front desk and lobby bar are staffed 24 hrs a day. Many of the staff speak English and are happy to answer questions (we asked for a lot of walking directions, restaurant recommendations, phone calls for taxis - they were exceptionally friendly despite dozens of questions). My mom and I stayed in 3 different rooms at Europa during our time in Santo Domingo, all 3 rooms had comfortable beds, TVs, chest of drawers, and safes in the closets (good for storing laptop, passport, extra cash) and they were all very homey (though not all had windows). There is WiFi throughout the hotel; although the signal is strongest in the lobby it's still possible to get a signal in the rooms. Our only complaint was the showers - in all 3 rooms the water couldn't be directed well and the pressure was a little weird. Temperature control was fine, but compared to the quality in all other aspects of the hotel the quality of the showers was lacking. Overall, I absolutely recommend this hotel for anyone traveling on a budget and I would gladly return to this establishment in the future.
“Good mid-priced hotel in Santo Domingo”
I travel to Santo Domingo frequently and this is the first time I have stayed at the hotel Europa. There is a real shortage of good medium priced hotels in Santo Domingo. This one is a great find. The location is within the Colonial Zone, within a few blocks walking distance to the Conde, and only a block from the Plaza de España. Yet the area has a much more local, lived-in feel to it. Being a few blocks from the tourist Mecca of Santo Domingo rather than directly in the middle of it all can be a good thing. This hotel has a little bit of a split personality. From the exterior, the hotel is stunning. As is the lobby and common areas of the hotel. When you take the elevator (a rare find in a building this old), and arrive on your floor, you may feel like you are in a different hotel. The rooms are charming, and clean, and have a very colonial feel to them, but they are much more spartan than the common areas of the hotel. Nevertheless, all the rooms are adequately equipped. Cable TV, electronic safe, air conditioning, and a spacious bathroom. The interior rooms have no windows. The superior rooms are the exterior ones with a huge glass doors leading out to your own balcony. There is free buffet breakfast on the beautiful rooftop terrace every morning. Wifi is free and available in the first floor common areas and on the rooftop terrace. The staff where exceptionally friendly and helpful at all times. I would not hesitate to stay here again at the right price.
“"Great location"”
The location was perfect! We were able to easily walk to all the historic attractions in one day. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast which consisted of fresh fruit, eggs, toast, coffee, juices was served on the roof. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel offered free wifi and a free computer with Internet access. We would recommend this hotel to everyone.
“Good value”
As budget travelers, my husband and I were looking for a good value when we decided on this hotel. It wasn't exactly budget, but for Santo Domingo it was a good value. Excellent location and the rooms were very nice (we stayed twice). The room with the balcony was great, however VERY noisy, as it's next to the street. I'm glad I experienced it first though, because the next room had no window, (which normally I would have been upset at) but provided a much better night's sleep. The internet did not work in either room, which was disappointing, so I needed to go to the lobby to use my computer. The rooms were fairly clean, although not perfect. The breakfast was nice, as were the hotel staff. All in all a good experience and I would go back.
