A Unesco heritage site within the city centre, close to all the main attractions, with extensive gardens and large outdoor pool, this beautiful hotel is the perfect place to relax - the perfect antidote to busy streets and bustling museums. The original buildings boast a rich heritage and The Four Seaons people should be congratulated for creating a beautiful hotel in such a sensitive and well informed manner. This exemplary approach to architecture & design was matched by the range and quality of food on offer at the two restaurants (one with a Michelin star), as well as the staff who were an absolute delight. We asked for an Aviation cocktail, which wasn't listed, and the bar man not only knew what we were looking for, he servered up the best we have ever had! 10 out of 10 for everything!

The Four Seasons hotel Florence is a private enclave in a frescoed Medici-era palazzo and restored convent that is only …More
The hotel is in a old part of the city and oozes charm, the staff are extremely helpful and courteous. The location is towards the east side of the old city so it was very easy to walk and see almost everything. We stayed in room 7 and it was beautifully laid out with a large walk in shower. It was very quiet and comfortable. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to friends and family.
We had a lovely stay.
Thank you very much staff and management of the Hotel J and J.
This is a unique and wonderful hotel. The location is simply perfect and the staff are warm and friendly. You must realize this is an old building with great charm so things like Wi-Fi can be a bit of a challenge and the rooms are not "modern" but have all the comforts you need.
The hotel is easily accessed by public transit — several bus routes run nearby, and one stops right in front — and has restaurants, a supermarket, drugstores, boutiques, and much more within a few minutes' walk.
The room was essentially an apartment: towels and linens were changed every three days but other than that you were on your own for general cleaning. There was a good-sized refrigerator, a microwave, and a stove, plus dishes and cutlery. The bed was large and comfortable. The room had a safe — almost indispensable these days.
There were, however, no chairs. There was four uncomfortable bowl-shaped dining chairs around the table, a sort of large square hassock, and a full-length person-shaped lounge covered in cold vinyl, but there wasn't an armchair or even a desk chair (and no desk), nor any place to put your suitcases except for that hassock.
The shower was wonderful: a large cascade shower head and sliding doors. But there was nowhere to put your shower gel and shampoo except on top of that large round flat shower head, or on the shower floor — a strange oversight. The bathroom had an openable window, a rare and welcome thing in a hotel.
The room itself also had windows that opened — and the A/C is designed to automatically shut off when they are open.
Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper: traffic noise is audible well into the night, since the hotel is on what seems to be a major road.
The hotel has a decently priced laundry facility, always a plus.
San Marco is a church and monastery set in Florence, dating back to the 15th century. The most notable aspects of San Marco are the frescos by Fra Angelico, a much-revered Renaissance painter. A museum is on site, and tours are available.
