“Surprisingly good”
Previous experience with hotels in Santiago was not so good. This one is located between two metro stations, has a heating system (! much needed during their winter), a shower with hot (!) water. Very good restaurant (even if a bit expensive for Chile) and nice breakfast. The room didn't have a toothpaste, but they delivered it as soon as we requested. Very good place.
“Oasis in the city”
Right in the thick of things. So much to see within walking distance (Plaza, churches, museums, and the Virgin Mary) and then come back to older but nice room with decor and Easter Island feel. yummy chocolates delivered to the door. The breakfast had a pretty good spread and saved us money and from having to look elsewhere. The pool and deck were a bit small but did the trick after the sightseeing & heat of the day. central to grocery stores for reasonable wines, munchies, water etc and banking exchanges. great location.. definitely would go back
“Very pleased”
Very good hotel, clean and wel-organized.
“Very impressed”
Nice hotel for its 3 stars
“Really satisfied!!!”
Excelent Hotel, excelent room service, really friendly people at concierge desk. I´ll come back for sure. Two thumbs up for them.
“Excellent hotel!”
Hotel Galerias is located in central Santiago, within easy walking distance of restaurants, banks, pharmacies, the central market, and important landmarks like the Plaza de Armas, La Moneda, San Francisco church, the Pre-Colombian Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts. The hotel is attractively decorated with artefacts of the indigenous peoples of Chile. The staff are competent, well-organized, and courteous. Breakfast is outstanding. One minor negative--the hotel is not exclusively non-smoking. We requested and received a non-smoking room. Unfortunately, the guests in the next room were smoking, and the smoke made it into our room through the heat vents.
“Wonderful employees”
Checked in 3 days after the earthquake. Got there at noon and our rooms (3 couples) were ready. All the walls were cracked but they had done a good job of cleaning up the mess. They were replastering all the vacant rooms immediately. The airconditioning did not work real well but that was probably because of the eartquake. We left 2 days later and since we had an 11pm flight they let us keep our rooms until 4pm. We had great food while we were there at the hotel and the lunch the first day there was about the best meal we had on the 19 day trip. The head waiter/ sommelier named Juan was a really nice young man and on our last day we had a late lunch in the bar and one of our party had gotten a bottle of California wine on the ship and we were going to drink that..Juan brought out 3 Chilean Cabs and we had an impromtu tasting..what fun..the hotel is in a great location for downtown touring and the employees could not be any nicer or more helpful...had a good 1 hour massage in the Spa for $30US...about 1/4 what we paid on the ship..and every bit as good. Finally, people that were in the hotel during the earthquake said that the staff could not have been any better or more attentive.
“Downtown Santiago”
This hotel is well located in the downtown area, close to shopping and to museums, hop on and off bus, and $30 taxi ride to airport. The hotel is well maintained and has a hacienda atmosphere with some lovely precolombian art reproductions. The restaurant is very good for evening dining. A nice pool and cocktails area. Rooms were large, clean and comfortable, similar to canadian 3-4 star hotels. I would go back.
“wonderful experience.”
great hotel, good location. fabulous restaurant decor was lovely, artistic, South American flavor. cute but small pool on rooftop adjoined by a cool bar. helpful stafff and room was clean, quiet and cool. would definitely recommend this place.
“Good, but still can be improved.”
Everybody very polite and ready to help an make comfortable our stay. Problems: 1.- Wi fi was not available late in the evening. 2.- During a day we have problems with the TV set. It was solved the day after. 3.- We clearly heard sounds and voices from neighboring room, I suppose the same happened in the other sense. 4.- Turistic information at the desk was not always correct. 5.- We asked for a shuttle to airport when going back home, but they did not came because of a misunderstanding between people from the hotel and shuttle company.
