Clean and comfortable hotel close to City Centre.

Pros: It was easy to book over the internet and everything was as expected for this unpretentious hotel. We arrived a bit early but this wasn't a problem.
Cons: The street door looks like a private residence but there is a buzzer push for the hotel reception.
Location: It was centrally located, west of the old town and within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, train and bus stations.
The hotel has a discrete entrance at street level with lift and stairs to reception. We found the staff to be both friendly, polite and helpful. The room was clean and spacious for two people with en-suite shower/toilet. There was an internet workstation and wi-fi available to guests. Everything was satisfactory for our short stay in Santander.

Great budget hotel

Posted 10-Mar-2013
Pros: Cheap price
Cons: No parking
Location: In the center of Santader
Great find! Hotel was in the middle of Santander. Staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The downside was there was no parking but you can use the underground car park opposite the hotel for 10 euros a night. We use the ferry a lot to the UK and for an over night stop will be using this hotel again.

The hotel was fun. Just very shocking that most everything was closed on a Tuesday.

Hotel Magallanes

Posted 12-May-2011 on Hotels.com
This is not a hotel but a hostal in a residential block. There are no facilities in the hotel not even a cup of coffee. The location is awkward with metered parking limited to 2 hours. The nearest carpark looked a bit "dodgy" and the next was a good 15 minutes walk away uphill. I will be cancelling my return booking for certain. Mike

Decent budget hotel.

The entrance is a small door that looks like a door to apartments so youmight miss it. The twin/double room was plain and clean and nice. The ensuite was brand-new, really clean and had a great shower. There was flat-screen tv with mostly Spanish channels. The location was quiet, near the shopping area and away from the tourist sea-front which was nice, and a minute walk from lots of little bars. Rental bikes on the street machine things are only 5 minutes away and are brilliant for going down to the seafront anf cylcing all the way along. Then you can leave the bikes down there at another depot. Also, good cheap Spanish eating around this area. Avoid eating around the touristy seafront and the casino - it's at least twice the price there as anywhere else and is really rubbish food in that area.
