This was a great property that has had a recent remodel. They have a gorgeous lobby area, complimentary valet parking, comfortable beds, stylish rooms, balconies, good bar, and just about everything else you could want. Other reviewers have complained about the location but i thought it was great. Less then 10 minutes walk to a great beach and then you can walk along Ocean blvd North to Santa Monica and the 3rd Street Promenade or South to the madness of Venice. It is NOT necessary to walk under the freeway to get to Santa Monica.
Staff was WONDERFUL, friendly and accommodating
The Shore Hotel is a lovely clean, fresh, modern hotel right opposite Santa Monica beach and pier. The staff were really helpful too and they were kind enough to let me use the gym shower after we had checked out of our room.
An excellent bed and breakfast! Great location (close to the Getty), fabulous room, an extremely comfortable bed. Breakfast was lovely sitting off the lounge, a great one night stay in LA. Will definitely be staying at this B&B again. I am already booked for a stay in Santa Cruz at a Four Sisters inn, due to my experience at the Channel Road Inn!
Me & my wife stayed here for a week.
We found the motel with no problems at all, just get the free airport bus to the LAX tranportation hub & catch the Big Blue Bus No3 from stop 12 ($1 fare each) & just under an hour later get off at the corners of Pico & Lincoln Blvd's & you'll see the big white/blue motel sign.
Check-in was no problem at all & the room was great, bed was good, tv had a lot of choice, bathroom/shower was really clean.
Only downfall to room was the lack of air-con & the ceiling fan was good provided you had the window open.
The window did have an insect cover, so should you need to open window, the little nasties could not get in.
Wi-fi is ok, the closer your room is to the main office the better the signal, as our room was at the back of the complex, we had to use the courtyard outdoor table & chairs area to use the wi-fi.
Beach is 20 mins walk from motel, simply exit the motel & turn left, walk to Pico & turn left & follow Pico all the way to beach, or catch Big Blue Bus No. 3 ($1 fare, 5-10 mins)
If you want to goto Hollywood, you can walk (about 20 mins) left out of hotel & simply follow Lincoln Blvd to Santa Monica Blvd & catch bus 704, or catch bus No.3 to beach & catch bus 704 from beach & then get off at Vermont/Sunset to use subway to Hollywood & Highland, then you can see chinese theatre at the main exit.
I suggest you buy a metro week pass ($25) which enables you to use metro buses & subway.
All-in-all our stay in LA was fantastic.
We had a wonderful 11 night stay in a one bedroom suite. It was amazing to stay in this beautifully renovated 1920s hotel. The suite was exactly as depicted in the photos and was tastefully decorated with a lounge area that was massive in space. The location a couple of blocks away from the 3rd Street Prominard and the beach was stunning. We were travelling with a 6 month baby and we had so much room compared to staying in a hotel and it felt so nice coming home to our lovely apartment at the end of each day. The staff were great as wa the elevator, a heritage beauty, that was a unique experience to ride in.

Palihouse Santa Monica is a boutique beach lodge offering 36 generously appointed classic rooms as well as stunning studios …More
This hotel is a classic. Its art deco style & friendly staff make it somewhere to return to next time in LA. Walking distance to the main shopping area/restaurants of Santa Monica, only a 5 minute walk & comfortable enough to walk it by yourself.
Right across the rd from the beach, taxi's at the door if needed.
Close to SM promenade and pier. Breakfast buffet is good and saves money for families. We stayed here to go to the Getty Center and it was close enough for the price. beds are comfortable and room was just right.
