Arrived and didn’t like the room. Request a refund, and was not possible and was given ven a different room. Was not impress with the 2nd rm it was also small with a TV that didn’t work. AC is not included with rm, basic breakfast. Stayed just one night of 3. Lost 2 nights. Just wasn’t worth it Outdated hotel would not recomend

Please make attention before book, aircon not included in the cost and you need to pay extra. As the property is old i think price 40 Eur is to expencive plus the extra costs. Breakfast is good and location is good. But not stay again.

Good room; good breakfast and a nice location. More or less quiet. But the price, wow. For everything that i had available it was an amazing deal for the price. I have stayed in places that gave me FAR LESS but costed me a lot more money.

Excellent hotel with rich history and provenance , Staff is professional and courteous. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Bed is perfect. Swimming pool is refreshing and fun. Happy to stay here. The breakfast is appreciated and is prepared fresh daily with good options. Thank you for a wonderful place to rest and rejuvenate.

Very good nice quiet Serene setting away from the beach and Noel people nice little Botanical area in the middle of the hotel quite cozy and for all the people who keep complaining about the breakfast wasn't so good I only got such and such breakfast here was phenomenal Services great if they give you a small amount of breakfast that's probably what you paid for if you want more breakfast you should have went to a Buffet that's just my two cents

Cool little vibe
Great value. Walking distance to main attractions. Cool little vibe. Free breakfast. AC and fridge in rooms. And a nice, small outdoor pool. I initially booked for one night, was lazy the next day so i just stayed. For $20, its hard to beat the value

Great value. Comfortable place for very reasonable price in a good location. 24hr security. They take covid protocol very seriously. Breakfast included (not very good but free). Room had AC and fridge. They also have a small outdoor pool. Would stay again

Wifi sufficient for social media. Cold water shower unexpected. Bed was fine. Breakfast was fine and had eggs fresh juice coffee fruit and arepa. Free filtered water. Recommend to check the 2 hostels on the same block.

Nice
The hotel is a rejuvenated home. I was told that it was a house built during colonial times. Off course it shows the age, however, the service was very good. The price was very affordable. I recommend it anyone who is on a budget.

The hotel and service were good enough. Arriving at night it is in a bit of a dodgy looking area. In the daytime it is fine. A fairly plain fan room for the price. But it did the job for a one night transit.

Not a Great Value; Cash Required for Discount Rate
CAUTION: This hotel may require you to pay in cash. Nothing was said on hotels.com about cash being required, and I had to give my credit card information to save the reservation. When I got here to pay, they would only accept cash for the amount I owed or would only accept the use of my credit card by requiring me to pay 33% more "because mine was a promotional rate." (NOTE: It's a bigger problem than you might think if you have not traveled in Colombia before. Getting cash here is expensive. ATMs in the country limit the amount you can withdraw per transaction with many allowing no more than the equivalent of $100-125 and the maximum being a bank that allows the equivalent of $250 as a withdrawal. They charge large fees for those withdrawals—typically $3-5 each! You will read online about some banks with no fees, but that seems to have changed with them all joining in on the game of charging extravagant amounts for rather small withdrawals.) Otherwise, it is a typical backpacker place, but with private rooms. Hot, humid rooms unless you pay extra for a/c, decent breakfast, hammocks, small pool. Service, other than requiring cash, was outstanding. Very friendly, helpful people. Not really a good value hotel: I stayed my first two nights at a brand new place one street over with a/c, bkft, great bed, etc., for 109,000 COP (also booked from hotels.com), and the "regular" rate for this place WITHOUT a/c and being rather old with drab rooms was 80,000 COP!

Good location, quiet and safe.
This hotel is a very good price-comfort combination and the staff is VERY helpful and friendly. Breakfast is nice and plenty. There are cooled drinks at the reception which you can take (pay later) - they are not expensive. There is a laundry service per kg - also very reasonably priced. The hotel is perfectly located. Just fine for the local beach, very close to the best restaurants, bars and clubs and just one road (carrera 5) for local buses to anywhere. I really liked Taganga - 1.400 COP. Beware of taxi drivers on rush hours - they may not want to take you to the airport or the main bus terminal.

Popular hotel for a short stay
The hotel has 'character'. It is not the most modern or on a particularly nice street but it is two blocks from the sea and three blocks from where the restaurants are. And very good value.

A relaxing place to stay
Nueva Granada hotel is in a slightly rough area of town but not dangerous. The staff were great and Jorge was very helpful and speaks good English. My room was small, had no AC, just a fan. (ask for AC its important if you want to feel comfortable). The room I had didnt have a window which mafe it feel like a cell. There was a bathroom attached which had only a cold shower. Cleaning was good and regular. Breakfast was cereal with milk or yoghurt, Juice,scrambled eggs,bread or arepas, a piece of fruit, tea or coffee. It was fresh and just enough. There is a small plunge pool in the courtyard, nice shaded areas to relax and chill out. In summary a great place to stay in Santa Marta, good staff,ok rooms but get AC...

Lovely little hotel set over ground level and around a pretty and quirky courtyard. Little pool for a dip and chairs, loungers and hammocks. Nice mix of travellers and Colombians on holiday. Never felt crowded though. Small rooms but all you could need. Double bed, private bathroom, TV and a/c (which you will pay 15,000 extra a night for) ceiling fan and safe. Lovely lady kept the rooms very clean and will also wash your clothes for a small fee (very handy if you have just done the Lost City trek)!!!! Helpful friendly reception staff who wiil look after your luggage for days if you are going on the trek. Great location minutes from Carrera 3 and all the restaurants and bars. But the hotel itself is in a very quiet calle. Relaxing and great price.....also not forgetting breakfast. PS....you will meet the resident parrot !!!!

Jorge at the front desk speak English well and is very nice. The hotel is nice. The pool is small but refreshing. Breakfast comes with made-to-order eggs. But the neighborhood is not nice and the "beach" is terrible.

We booked this hotel based on the hood reviews, but were very dissapointed. The hotel is out dated, pool is more like a small pond and they are not flexible in changing reservations.

I found the hotel itself satisfactory, but it is located in the red light district. My Colombian friends were surprised that I was staying there. I was told it was unsafe to go out on the street there at night.

This hotel is located less than 10 minutes away from the tourist center of Santa Marta (Parque de los Novios area). The street the hotel on is not the most vibrant there may be a few strange characters but nothing too concerning. The hotel staff is great especially the gentleman that works the front desk he is very knowledge on prices and routes to get you anywhere you want to go. The hotel does contain plants and trees and birds and hammocks outside giving it that "one with nature tranquil type of feel." This plant life and such also seems to attach some cockroaches in the room, I did see 1 during our 2 night stay in the bathroom, partly because there is an open window in the bathroom high up to allow for ventilation I suppose. I was limited in my options because I booked late during high season. The hotel wasnt that bad but for the price of $75 a night I may have found something a little better closer to town, but all in all it wasnt a bad place the breakfast was small and simple but sufficient.

Great Location
The staff at Hotel Nueva Granada were very helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is perfect as it is right in the old city and only a few blocks from some fantastic restaurants. The hotel is a little hard to find though so if you are coming in by taxi make sure you write down the address. Rooms were comfortable with all the basics. Showers were cold but when you are on the coast that is exactly what you want. Great stay

I have no complaints about the hotel. It was clean and the building has character. The room was a decent size with a flat screen. Television and the private bathroom had a shower. The breakfast was really good as you had a choice of how you wanted your eggs and with toast, fruit, cereal, juice and cofee available you can't go wrong. All in all I was quite happy with the standard of the hotel as I wasn't expecting 5* but it definetely served the purpose so for the price, location and I'd rate it 8.5/10.

I'm recommending this hotel as even though the rooms are small, and the hotel needs to be updated a bit, the staff here are friendly and they have made every effort to make my stay comfortable. I went to Tayriona and they allowed me to leave my bag. Horge on the desk was very helpful and speaks excellent English. Given the price, it is well worth it.

This place was just OK. On checking in I later noticed they charged 15 mill less than what we were supposed to be charged, which was fine. Then I later noticed we couldn't turn the AC on, even though we paid for AC. When I went to the front they explained I hadn't paid for AC but I showed the reservation which states AC. He tried to make me pay another 20 mill but I instead just paid the 15 mill. All that just for a AC remote controller! The AC worked great however since there aren't blankets on the beds, it's too cold to use during your sleep. So we ended up sweating all night in a so-so hotel. We woke up right at 9 and the "free breakfast" was already over. I won't be back.

I liked to hotel a lot. Good location, in the center n just 3 minutes from the beach. Its very clean, has a good plasma tv. Breakfast in the charming patio was pleasing too! The hotel offers a door to door transportation for a reasonable price. Taxi to Taganga costs $5. But 2 blocks from the hotel passes the bus, a cheaper opcion. The hotel also has a little pool
