“Santa Fe Delight”
After a hard days motorcycling we checked into the Los Palomas. I noticed that the hotel was made up of several buildings on either side of the street. Check in was efficient and friendly. My room was across the street and I was gob smacked when I saw it. It had a working Kiva Fireplace complete with wood and lighting materials. The bed, furnishing and fittings were top notch. I had a wonderfull chill out in front of the fire and a great sleep. Breakfast was delicious with great coffee and make to order omelette's. A joy! I appreciate some of the other guys with me had not so spectacular rooms but still they were very good.
“Excellent location, all-round value and Santa Fe character”
This is an affordable, well-located and adequately-presented hotel. Don't expect extreme luxury, but do expect charm, character, comfort and a friendly welcome in one of Santa Fe's typical 'pueblo'-styled collections of buildings. The location is one of the biggest strong points - just c 8-10 minutes walk from the major galleries and other downtown locations. I'd certainly stay there again.
“Loved our stay at Las Palomas”
We loved our Super Casita with Fireplace even though unnecessary in high summer. The room was in traditional pueblo style - atmospheric, spacious and comfortable. It was great to be able to prepare some of our own meals. Buffet breakfast was good although a bit carb and fat-laden (cereals, muffins, bagels, preserves). It was possible to have speciality coffees and waffles or pancakes cooked to order, but the crepe machine was broken whilst we were there. Staff were friendly and helpful. A shuttle bus between Las Palomas and the sister Hotel Santa Fe meant that it was pretty convenient to go there to use the pool. There was a hot tub on site (but a few too many mozzies), small fitness room and laundry - all of which made this a good base from which to explore Santa fe in comfort - somewhere between a B&B and a hotel.
“Very good value”
We enjoyed our stay at Las Palomas in a one bedroom casita. It was like having our own little adobe house! The main bed was comfortable and the double sofa bed in the living area was adequate for our teenage daughter (we wouldn't recommend it for adults though). We had seating outside on a little patio, we could park the car just a few yards away, and the included breakfast was nice with waffles cooked to order. The only downside was that the wireless internet only worked by one of the windows or outside on the patio. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful. Best of all, the location is excellent, just a 5 min walk to the plaza or to the great value restaurant Tomasita's on Guadalupe South, and with easy access to the highway for trips out of Santa Fe (we particularly liked Bandelier and the free Bradbury Science Museum at Los Alamos). Overall, Las Palomas is very good value for money. Recommended.
“Shabby chic at it's best”
Lovely location. Short walk to the plaza where there is lots going on. Very friendly and helpful hosts. The room was very private and comfortable. Great breakfast- better than usual continental fare. Cooked to order waffles and omelettes. Would definitely go back and recommend to others.
“The staff look after you well here”
The hotel is located about 7 mins walk from the plaza in a quiet neighbourhood. There are various parts to the hotel - I stayed in one of the casitas across the road from the main reception. It was charming and quirky but with modern comforts. The breakfast lived up to expectations - all very good quality and a relaxed atmosphere. The best aspect of the hotel was the first class standard of customer service. I felt very much at home, like I was a person rather than a customer. As I was on my own and a very long way from home this aspect was important. I felt very comfortable there and would definitely return.
