“Don't go there.”
Very old and dilapicated motel with a poorly and cheaply done minor makeover. This motel was outdated 40 years ago. No phone in room, paper thin walls, shabby furnishings, marginal cleanliness. Very overpriced by a factor of 3. There is a beautiful garden in the back of the property near a private residence that does not in any way make up for the low quality of everything else. If you must, see the garden and stay elsewhere.
“Brand New Bathroom Upgrade To Quaint Solvang Hotel”
This is a perfect place to stay for a casual weekend visit to the Solvang area for wine tasting. My wife and I have stayed here about three over four times over the past few years and always found it to be clean, comfortable, and in a great location. A couple of highlights: THE ROOMS: Each room comes with a fully stocked kitchen (you provide the food, of course) and a couch/seating area. It's great for relaxing after a long day of wine tasting. The owner mentioned to me that they are continuing to renovate and in the room we stayed in, he's going to replace the linoleum in the kitchen with tile and put in a brand new couch. THE BATHROOMS: We were shocked to see brand new, fancy upgraded bathrooms with all new fixtures (showers, toilets, and sinks). They are so much nicer than the old bathrooms and definitely worth the investment. THE LOCATION: It's about a 1 1/2 or 2 block walk to downtown Solvang, where there are plenty of cute shops and lots of tasting rooms. You're also just a short block away from a much bigger chain hotel that has a pretty happening bar scene at night with local music if you're into that. It's pretty fun. And, you're central to visiting wineries in both Lompoc (about 20 minutes away) and Los Olivos (about 10 minutes away). THE PRICE: You can't beat it. This isn't a "fancy" Four Season's style hotel by any means. But you get quality, clean rooms, excellent staff, and a great location for less than a chain hotel. You won't regret it.
“Quaint, comfortable, friendly, walking distance to center of town”
Very relaxing and convenient place to stay. We especially enjoyed having tea and breakfast in the beautiful gardens.
