“Grandma's house”
disappointed with the age of the hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast was pleasant and the surroundings well manicured. The room was in need of remodeling, wall paper, lamps, pictures looked like it was locked in the 80's. Reminded me of a room in Grandma's house. Not that I wouldn't love to visit my Grandma but when the price of the room is significant the experience should match. Would not select this hotel again.
“Small, cute&clean”
This hotel looks more like a small apartment complex. However, the room was big enough (nicely decorated) with a convenient kitchenette. The bed was very comfortable! The pool & jacuzzi are small. The hotel offers complimentary treats, continental breakfast, cheese&wine, cookies&milk, free use of bikes and dvd movies. The location is great just 2 blocks away from the harbor and only few minutes away from the beach when you go on a bike ride. My husband and I enjoyed our stay here. The price is a little high for this type of hotel but most hotels at Santa Barbara are overrated.
“Not what I expected”
Unfortunately, the hotel was not what I expected. In it's first life, It was either a converted motel or small apartments with the doors to the rooms accessible only from an alley. This did not make me feel safe at all, especially since I am a woman and was staying with two young children. In addition, the building was old, had no elevator and it was located on a "very" busy street. To it's credit, the room was clean and had a full kitchen and the staff was excellent, very kind and helpful. The pool was heated and though it had a"teacup" sized jacuzzi the landscaping around it was tropical looking and well kept. The breakfast was good with a number of choices but the wine tasting/cheese and crackers were minimal and if you don't get there on time you might miss it as they put it away on the dot! If you are looking for something 'upscale' this would not be the place for you.
“Little gem of a place”
Nice little hotel - great free cookies - coffee - dvd's - wine from the sister hotel!
“Friendly, low key”
The hotel was very comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast, wine tasting, and evening cookies were very pleasant. The hotel is next to a park and community center so we did get some music in the afternoon and early evening.
“Nice people, Good breakfast choices, Very clean!”
We stay here every year. The kitchen rooms are great, the maids are so nice, desk personnel are kind and informative. The desk's computer, available for the public, was free, and free WiFi. Breakfast was great, with good coffee. Wine and cheese was awesome, snacks at night were wonderful. DVD's available were a pretty good selection. My negative comments would be that the bed I had was too soft and was uncomfortable for my back, hot tub and pool could be hotter/warmer, and my kids said the "Brittish lady" who worked in the evenings was a bit curt to them when they went to check out movies.
“It was fine.”
The hotel was fine, and the location was good. It's just not an expensive hotel, but taken good care of. The neighborhood is not the best, but a long way from a bad neighborhood.
“Very Nice Place!”
The room was spacious and clean. Set up beautifully for 4 adults so that there was privacy to be had. It was very quiet, which was unexpected. It was close to the event we were attending so that we were able to walk. Free parking was also a plus. Very Nice!
“The best place we have yet in Santa Barbara”
The Inn was just right for our purposes. it was a long block to the harbor, but certainly and easy walk and much quieter than on the harbor or beach. Our room was just great! Very large with a dining alcove, very comfortable beds and black out curtains. Complimentary wine, cheese crackers and fruit was very generous and good. The breakfast met all our needs. Trays were available to take food back to the room, but there were plenty of tables both inside and outside. My husband and I have stayed in Santa Barbara for single nights whenever possible. Not many places accept one night reservations in the summer. This one did - and it was definetly our favorite! We will stay there whenever in Santa Barbara. Their sister hotel, right around the corner looks good also, but bigger. We liked the size of the Inn. It is built around a courtyard. Nice pool and jacuzzi, too.
“It was just OK”
The thing that I didn't like about the hotel was where the parking area is there are apartments right next to the hotel. But once inside you don't really notice it. Other than that it was really good. Close to the beach and good restaurants and not to far from the main strip.
