“Very Impressed!”

We had a very nice stay at the Holiday Inn Express Solvang. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was large, comfortable and clean. The breakfast room was very large and the food quite good. We will stay there again. Thank you!

“Needs an update”

My main beefs are with the rusty tub drain and uncomfortable chairs in the room. It is an old hotel but surely given the fact it is among the most expensive ones, they should upgrade.

“Solvang”

This was a decent hotel with great customer service. The condition of the hotel was a little in need of some attention but overall I would stay there again and recommend it to friends/family. Decent breakfast. Location was great as we could walk everywhere we wanted to go!

“Good value for money and convenient to walk around town.”

I think this Holiday Inn represents value for money. It is well situated with parking underneath and easy access to lift. We had a loft room which my daughter enjoyed, I found the stairs steep and not ideal when needing to use the bathroom with out waking the rest of the family!

Area recommendations

Take the time to explore the town, it is not as kitch as the guidebooks say and has real Danish roots unlike Alpine Helen in GA. We enjoyed a good meal at 'A bit of Denmark" and while chatting with our server found out her grandfather was one of the first settlers to the town.

“Great Overniter in Solvang”

Friendly staff, great neighborhood. I block from Solvang shopping. Afternoon lemonade and cookies. Pretty good variety for the buffet breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

The Solvang Brewing Company is walking distance from the hotel; great burgers, beer and pear cider!

“Exceptional experience”

This was one of the best experiences of our entire vacation.

Area recommendations

We were entranced with the entire city. It is just a small area so I would recommend that one does not miss a bit of it.

Must see

This is definitely a must-see little city. It's uniqueness makes it an incredible place to visit. We enjoyed all the specialty shops especially the Christmas shop.

“Just ok”

For the price we paid, I was expecting something nicer. The halls smelled musty and old. Our room showed much wear and tear. While the towels seemed to be of good quality, it appeared fabric softener was not used. The towels were rough and hard. The only saving grace was the staff were all pleasant.

“Wish I had stayed somewhere else!”

Alot of problems with our room. AC controler didn't, either stays on or stays off. Bathtub/shower dirty, mold on walls and on grout. Drains in sinks and tub didn't drain, had to run water slow. By the time i was done with my shower i was standing in a tub of water. Room Ref. had missing front feet, so i couldn't open the door until I put a stack of books under it. Next time I will take my money somewhere else.

“A night in Solvang”

This was a great hotel for a one-night stop (and would be fine for multiple nights). Easy to find, good room, comfortable beds, nice bathroom, good price. I booked this hotel after reading other reviews on Expedia, and one mentioned the cinnamon rolls served at breakfast - this helped with making the final choice, and the rolls were well worth it!!

Dining

Had dinner at the nearby Hitching Post restaurant - didn't know, it until we saw pictures in the bar, but part of the movie 'Sideways' was filmed there.

“BIG Family Travelers”

It was a very nice hotel. I would stay there again. I had 8 family members staying here and 3 rooms between us and 1 of the rooms was not ready by check in time. We also had problems with the keys constantly being de-magnatized and that was bothersome. The A/C worked great and the pool was awesome!
