“Intimate andgreat location!”

Great location, one block from the beach and two from State Street. Love the suites and the extra personal touches. THe only thing I would like is either airconditioning or a fan in the sleeping area. The room was extremely hot.

“Great little place”

We wanted a small place to stay near the water, and were very pleased with the hotel. It was charming, clean, and comfortable. It's a block from the water, just across from the marina and a short walk to the wharf. There was a nice breakfast place just around the corner. State Street was a short walk away. We only needed our rental car to explore the hills. When we go back, we'd definitely stay there again!

Area recommendations
State Street was very nice to walk, shop, and eat. Lots of stores and restaurants! Exploring the hillside neighborhoods was great. Awesome views! We went whale watching on the Condor Express (Condor Cruises) and it was terrific. A unique experience! Eat at Brophy Bros restaurant at the marina. Some of the best chowder I've had!

“Lovely Stay”

The Inn is in a great location right around the corner from the beach. The welcome basket with all the breakfast items was a great treat. The suite itself was lovely, the kitchen particularly well stocked - the coffee machine and coffee provided were very welcome! Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and I would definitely stay here again.

Dining
The Santa Barbara Seafood company at the end of the pier - seafood so fresh and delicious! We went back the second night for me we liked it so much. Sign up on the list outside the door and they will call you when a table is ready.

“Money well spent”

Beautifully decorated rooms and excellent service. So close to the beach yet without all the noise. Welcome basket of goodies were delicious. Pay the extra money and get the king deluxe room. You will not be disappointed. Would gladly return without hesitation.

“Perfect Santa Barbara Getaway”

Everything about the hotel is exemplary. While it's not a traditional hotel with room service, it's more like being given a wonderful stocked duplex for the weekend -- a home you wish you owned. Our "apartment" came with vaulted ceilings, a fireplace, a full kitchen, a ridiculously comfortable bed, towels you want to take with you, and a lovely basket of fruit, banana nut bread, jams and juices. I wish I could have made an offer on the place. The location is ideal.

“Hospitality Rules”

Hospitality is a key value at Harbor House Inn. These people could not have been more helpful. The rooms are older and, while very clean overall, you should be prepared for the old-fashioned bathroom, etc. The carpet in my room showed its wear and the antique furniture did not include a comfortable chair. But these minor items were overcome by the cleanliness of the bath, kitchen and linens; the little extra's that made the stay comfortable; and the helpful staff.

“A real hidden gem - fantastic little place to stay”

My wife and I stayed at the Harbour House Inn for 2 nights and both really loved it. However, the first point I should make is that we paid the extra to have the larger room, and we would very much recommend doing this if you can afford the small amount extra. Our accommodation (more a chalet than a room) was really very beautiful with an enormous bed in the main room, a separate kitchen with fridge and cooker (so would be fantastic for a longer stay) and a very clean, separate bathroom. There was a lovely gift basket in the kitchen when we arrived, full of fruit, biscuits, drinks, cakes and various other treats. This was a really lovely touch and made the lack of breakfast far less of an issue. The location of the Harbour House is really great - the road was pretty quiet (the only background noise coming from trains insisting on using their horns at a ridiculous hour!) and it was a couple of minutes walk to the beach and about a 10 minute walk to the shops and restaurants. The staff were absolutely wonderful, and are well equipped with local knowledge and armed to the teeth with restaurant recommendations and menus, so we had no problem finding a great Italian restaurant. The parking was also great - plenty of space and we were able to park directly outside our room, and there was also free Wi-Fi in the room which is always a bonus. Overall we had a really great stay here, and it would definitely be our first choice whenever we visit Santa Barbara again.
