“Clean, Convenient, and Coming back”

We were there for four nights. No complaints. Check-in was quick and staff efficient and polite. The room was very comfortable. Our location was quiet. Landscaping is very nice. A nice array of coffees in the lobby. Free fruit. Good wifi. It is not a new property, but shows excellent care. Good value. We would definitely stay there again.

“High quality Santa Barbara hotel”

This hotel was chosen for my best friend's bachelorette party, which is conveniently located between the Santa Ynez/Solvang area and downtown Santa Barbara. This fit perfectly in our party's plans because we could experience a classy adventure to an area new to us with fun daytime activities that fit our interests such as wine tasting, visiting animal farms, roaming around town to fudge shops to satisfy our sweet tooth, and have a nice dinner as well as trek to downtown Santa Barbara for some night life, and when we wake up for the next day, we can still choose between the two areas for good food and fun activities. There is also a shopping plaza/mall right across the street from the hotel which served as a possible option/activity for us girls to partake in. The hotel is very comfortable, clean, and gave us a wonderful experience. I totally recommend this hotel.

Area recommendations

I would recommend both Solvang and downtown Santa Barbara because I had a great experience in both areas during my trip. I went to downtown Santa Barbara previously for another friend's bachelorette party and had a great experience then too.

“Great Place to stay!”

I would definitly recommend this hotel for your stay in Santa Barbara. It's extremely clean and a wonderful atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and there are many extras that are provided for you. I will go back again next time in Santa Barbara.

“Decent place to stay”

Somewhat pricey, but it is Santa Barbara. Booked primarily on Expedia reviews. Room was excellent. Great bed, lots of nice little things (fruit, quality tolietries, bathrobes, cookies, etc). Somewhat out of downtown stuff, but not too bad. Showing its age a little, but clean and comfortable. Recommended.

“GREAT SANTA BARBARA VALUE!!!!”

the pepper tree best western was amazing.. very clean,great location and chivon (?) the manager was very helpful. i was attending a wedding and most everybody else was staying at much more expensive hotels and they all wished they had stayed at best western as it was clean comfortable and spacious pplus a great locataion on state street

“Nice Trip”

“Good for the price”

Convenient location for wine tours and other trips in the Santa Barbara vicinity. Room was clean, with good amenities ( free wifi, refrigerator, microwave, DVD player, etc), although the fridge had a humming sound. Only setbacks were that you could hear outside noise sometimes, and the bed was kind of concave/lumpy. Rooms in the back seem more quiet than those facing any pools. Pools were a good temperature and not too chlorinated, so that is a plus.

“Lovely experince”

We attended a wedding at the La Cumbre Country Club about 5 minutes away. The room was nicer than many we heard about closer to the beach at twice the cost. The staff was welcoming and I would definitely return.
