The resort is well kept and offers a variety of amenities. The staff was very attentive, courteous, and helpful. Our a/c cooled well but was very noisey and they installed another a/c right away. They have a store on site with prices not that much different from town. The restaurant was as good and comparably priced to others we tried. They offer kayaks free. Our real disappointment is that we thought that "on site snorkeling" meant we could walk out into the ocean from the beach and snorkel as we did in Hawaii. Not so there or probably anywhere in Belize. Younger guests did take the kayaks out to the reef about 2 miles out. They do have excursions leaving directly from the resort. The wifi is only in the pool areas and generally reliable. The satellite tv offers a lot of channels. The only other complaint is that housekeeping would collect dirty towels when they cleaned but not replace them until 2-3 hours later. We didn't understand that--too bad if you needed to shower mid afternoon.

I stayed here with my 11 year old daughter. We felt very safe. The staff was very kind and helpful! I lost my phone in Belize City at the Ferry. The staff called around for me and helped me locate my cell phone! I can't believe I got it back.
The rooms are nice and immaculate. It has 2 pools and a nice beach front with a dock. I will stay again and I would reccomend it to everyone!

We stayed in a 2 bedroom hotel room. It was wonderful! Everyone had their space and I loved the bedrooms being upstairs so someone could sleep in and not be disturbed. The staff was very helpful. I would defiantly recommend this hotel.
Sunbreeze Suites is everything we needed. Close to the shore for walks on the beach. All the tours you book will pick you up and drop you off at the dock. We ate dinner at the restaurant but also ate at other restaurants close by. When you walk out on to the streets you will see lots of locals with there handmade wood crafts and jewellery made with shells and red corals and turquoise just beautiful stuff for sell. Shops and grocery stores are right close by. So the location is excellent. Our suite was like a little home away from home. The bedroom, washroom and kitchen and dining sitting room were all separate rooms. We could get up in the morning and make our own breakfast and eat the local fruit we bought. Then have coffee on the balcony with a gorgeous view and the famous San Pedro breeze. Staff was friendly. We ordered the 5 gallon water jug for our room and had it delivered right away. Our house keepers were sweethearts. If you need anything like if you run out of coffee you just have to ask them. Oh and the coffee they give you for the coffee machine in the room is sooo good. The hotel staff was friendly and very accommodating and truly interested in the quality of our stay. They were great in terms of scheduling tours, even at a moments notice. Our second time in Belize and first time at this hotel. We will definitely return.
We stayed there for a week during mid June. It was perfect for us. We stayed in a junior ocean view suite that had a great view of the ocean and overlooked the pool.
The room was clean and the beds (queen and sofa bed) were comfortable. The AC worked well for relief at the end of long days outside. All in all, the room was very comfortable.
We did the Lamanai ruins excursion, snorkeled Hol Chan and shark alley, made an afternoon trip to Caye Caulker, and spent the rest of the time either relaxing at Mata Rocks or wandering around San Pedro. The Lamanai tour was great and filled the whole day. Hol Chan was an easy morning diversion.
It's very easy to get around. The staff can arrange a fifteen minute flight from Belize City airport to the island. It was worth it after a long day of travel to Belize. A complimentary cab will take you from the San Pedro airport directly to Mata Rocks.
Getting around is easy. If you like to walk, you can walk along the beach to downtown (where most of the restaurants are) in about twenty minutes. There are plenty of places along the way if you don't walk to walk that far. You can also check out bikes free of charge or rent golf carts (which most of the locals use rather than cars).
For us, the easiest thing to do was take a cab. They're cheap and get you downtown in five minutes.
Hurricane's bar/grill had the best seafood, hands down. Simple fresh food and nice service.
Be prepared to slow things way, way down
We enjoyed the relative seclusion of the Grand Caribe, the spacious, beautifully decorated condos,the quiet, the walks along the beach, the side excursions we took, the food and the total atmosphere of the place. We are already planning to go back longer next year!
We relaxed and enjoyed a snorkelling tour. Hotel is 4.5 miles North of town, so getting to and from town takes planning. The hotel can provide you with a boat ride into town once in the morning and once in the afternoon. The Water Taxi service is the only other option as no land taxi would take us back.
