Hotel that takes dogs

Posted 03-Jul-2014
Pros: the bed was comfortable. the floors were laminate wood so didn't have that dingy carpet smell...the bathroom was newly renovated and clean.
Cons: coffee pot in room? but then there is a Starbucks nearby
Location: two blocks from Higuera St which has lots of restaurants/coffee, etc. Right next to freeway. Across street from fast food places.
Room looked newly renovated. although right by a freeway we never heard it from our room.

Decent value but with freeway noise.

Staff friendly, room clean. Motel is about what you'd expect for the price. 24/7 freeway noise so earplugs recommended for sleeping.

San Luis Inn And Suites Review

Posted 16-Jun-2014
Pros: Very good value if you book directly.
Cons: We found that the premium paid for the hotel room by booking through Expedia compared to booking direct was very high.
Very friendly, courteous and responsive staff including front desk and service personnel. Location is close to down town but yet far enough to be quiet and away from the bustle of down town. The continental breakfast is better and a has a larger variety than most similar hotels. Rooms were clean, bathrooms were clean and well stocked with towels, soap etc.. Furniture seemed relatively new and just recently assembled. Even when full there seemed to be sufficient insulation in the walls to provide adequate sound isolation. Parking lot is well laid out with ample parking between rows so it is not a squeeze but on days like graduation days the parking spaces may fall short specially if families and kids descend on it with two cars per room !

Close to Downtown

Pros: Price and free Wi-Fi
Cons: Parking
Location: Drink booze and cheap eats at Jack'n'Box/Taco Bell
Reasonably priced, with lots of new upgrades with flat screens and new key card entry. Pool looks a little dumpy

Not worth the money

Posted 13-Jan-2014 on Hotels.com
Price was reasonable but every thing else was bad. Room had left over wooden boards from remodeling. Although we had taken non smoking room, there was lot of cigarette smoke smell in the room. Room had a shared door with another room, hence it was not sound proof and TV sound we could hear almost whole night.

Run of the mill three star place

Posted 09-Jan-2014
Pros: Proximity to the college and price
Cons: Owners shouldn't live on site. Gives a bad impression
Location: Great restaurants, shopping and bars
The owners are trying to upgrade the place. Flatscreens in every room, upgraded bathrooms, pretty compared to some of the other flee-bag hotels in the area

remodeled rooms a nice surprise

Posted 09-Jan-2014 on Hotels.com
From the price and outside appearance I wasn't expecting such a nicely appointed room. New flooring and furnature, modern designed bathroom and vanity, mini fridge and microwave flat screen TV and comfortable beds. There was nothing not to like. The continental breakfast was sparse but I look forward to breakfast in town when I stay in SLO anyways. Hotel clerks were very pleasant and accommodating. Parking was secure and ample. I will be staying there on my future trips to San Luis Obispo trips as it is near the university my son attends.
