Dog barking!!

Cons: Security latch on our door didn't work. Bathtub was gross. Handle in the bathroom had something on it that made you not want to use it.
There was a dog in the room across from us that would not stop barking for over 2 hours. Finally complained and they called the people in the room to quiet their dog. Asked about pets and they said they can stay for a fee but the owners have to stay with the animal. Clearly this was not enforced.

Location: There is an old time American style diner literally next door with GREAT food!!
Comfortable, clean room. Simple. The remote didn't work but everything else was fine. Man at front desk was very kind!

Needs Some Upgrades, Fair Price

I wouldn't spend more than $100/night especially since this older inn is right next to two newer properties. Our room was spacious, but dated. The mattress and pillows were not comfortable and I had to plug the bathtub with a wash rag so I could give my toddler a bath. Plus side: they have DirecTV, easy access to the 101 which makes visiting the beaches and downtown SLO easy.

I am Hugely disappointed, I was double charged. Once with EXPEDIA and twice Buy ROSE GARDEN INN! This is so wrong. If one books with Expedia they are immediately charged, the hotel should know this and there should be a way to double check so when one checks in they are not Double charged. And can not pay their bills until 3-4 work days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will not be booking any thing through EXPEDIA because of this.

Cal Poly Visit.

We had a very nice stay at the Rose Garden Inn. We have stayed at several of the more modest hotels in San Luis Obispo during the last 3 years while our daughter has attended Cal Poly and have found this hotel to be the most enjoyable, so far. Our room was clean and had a swing-out glass door that opened onto a garden area which was great for fresh air. (If we stay there again, we will request a 2nd floor room that overlooks the pool area and keep the door open all night.) The pool/Jacuzzi area was clean and nicely landscaped. Breakfast is not included and so we walked next door and ate at Margie's which was very expensive compared to other restaurants in the area. I would recommend going elsewhere for breakfast.

Nice, quiet and comfey

We didn't spend much time in the room but the time we did spend there it was not too noisy and pretty comfey. The price was great and I think you get a great experience with that considered.

This is an older hotel. Good for one or two night stay. Safe. Decent. Nothing fancy.
