Worst place I've ever stayed in!

Posted 10-Sep-2014
Pros: Spa.
Cons: Rooms need updating, including beds, carpets, cooling & heating and definitely bathroom!
Very old motel with no charm. Maintenance and care seems to be low priority. Carpet was ripped in several places. Bed was so uncomfortable that my husband and I both suffered from back pain. The bathroom smelled like a sewer. Ran out of toilet paper and towels. Very chincy on both. Small room with no walking space. Antiquated wall cooler and heater that was noisy. Asked the clerk if she could move us, but she said there were not other available rooms. When I checked out, I let the front desk know that I was not happy with my stay. Also told front desk, that we had asked to be moved on the same day we checked in, and were told there were no other rooms. When front desk checked, there were other rooms available. We did get a small refund, but would have been happy to pay for full amount, had our stay been pleasant.

That itchy feeling.....

Posted 27-Aug-2014
Pros: the only thing to like was the rates.
Cons: bedding. Door locks falling off.
Location: We went to Hearst Castle which sort of made the day and we also went to Avila beach instead of Pismo. Both are highly recommended.
We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. The first appearances are not good and as we walked through the halls to get tour room which was on the second floor(no elevator) it seemed like a seedy motel. The room didn't really shock us it matched the appearance of the hallways. The bedding gave you that itchy feeling. The bedding blanket and covers was old. Some new comforters and sheets would be a tremendous upgrade. The beds were queen size which was nice. The clientele was mostly workers from what I could see and some pretty creepy individuals were hanging out smoking. The staff was friendly. Thankfully we were only in the hotel just to crash for the night. Funny thing was we were about to go to eat breakfast at the diner connected to it when like 30 inmates went in for breakfast lol . The rates were cheap and the reviews when I looked seemed favorable but I guess you get what you pay for. If you a looking for a cheap hotel you wont be disappointed....but you may want to pay a little more and get something nicer especially if with family.

Good hotel for the price compared to others in tow

Posted 11-Aug-2014
The hotel is older, so you can't expect the noise level to be lower. I could here much of what was going on in the room next to us and the room above. I recommend you bring ear plugs if you want a truly quiet experience. The bed is a good quality, and the staff friendly and efficient.

Great motel with Hot Tube

Posted 05-Aug-2014
After a long day's drive we reached the Rose Garden Inn about ready to drop. But then we discovered the swimming pool and hot tub. What better way is there for the children to let off steam and for the adults to relax? Add that to a good night's sleep in a spacious enough room to cope with a family of four and we had the perfect stopping point on the Pacific Coast Highway.

Charming Budget Friendly Inn

Posted 31-Jul-2014
Great place to stay in the San Luis Obispo area. Clean and comfortable rooms and a great garden area with pool, jacuzzi with a rock waterfall. The Rose Garden Inn is a bit out dated as far as hotels on the Central Coast go,but it has more individual character than some of the more well known hotel chains in the area. Loved the convienent access from the freeway to Pismo Beach which was the determining factor when choosing a hotel in the area. Adjacent to Rose Garden Inn, is a diner that has pretty decent food as there is no breakfast provided with the room, but with that said, for the price for a room, you get a bit more ambiance and charm. I recommend the Rose Garden Inn of San Luis Obispo,CA if you plan a trip to the Central Coast.

Decent hotel but overpriced at over $300/night

Posted 06-Jul-2014
Hotel was adequate but not worth the expensive cost of over $300/night.
