“Quaint”

There are two wings, the original built near the turn of the century and a newer side. We stayed in one of the old rooms and found it small and a bit run down. It wasn't terrible, I suppose keeping a 100 year old structure looking fresh is difficult. It was comfortable enough for the two of us but if you have more than that in your party, you'll be bumping into each other.

Area recommendations
Not a lot going on around the hotel.

“Great hotel!!”

A beautiful place to stay in Santa Maria! Just make sure you stay in the tower, not in the historic section. The rooms in the tower are huge!! Super comfy beds, fridge, great tv. The pool is beautiful!

“Historic and quaint”

I stayed one night and fell in love with the history of the hotel. The only negative was that my room's window was along a side street where people left the bar to smoke, which was a little loud. The room was small, but cozy and fitting for the time period it was built. I'm definitely going back!

“Comfortable and Pretty”

We stayed here on the way to LA from the SF Bay area. It was a clean, comfortable room. The hotel is very charming. My son was thrilled with room service. I would recommend to others and stay again.

“I will come back”

We arrieved 9/23/2011 afternoon, the receptionist was not very welcoming, but not rude, she did not tell us where is restaurant, eleveator, bar, nothing, we had to find out ourselves...our room was huge, 2 double beds, bay window, very nice and clean, but the bathroom could be updated, looked like Charlie Chaplin just left it..the Garden restaurant was very good, food excelent, service also very good. The bar and other tap bar early closed, not very impresive. But we realy liked the atmosphere there, I would come back for sure.

Area recommendations
Did not like the neighborhood, bud I would strongly recomand the japanese restauant there at ghe stripmall...28 years of service and excelent food.
