An older hotel, but the property is very well kept and very clean. At check-in, we had Steven helping me and he was so kind and helpful with recommendations on restaurants. We also liked Janet in the breakfast area who helped me get a breakfast tray. This is the first hotel that has offered gluten free waffles, and this was great! We used the very Jacuzzi and it was nice and hot. The pool area was clean and had towels. We brought our dog and it was wonderful. There was a pet area that was fenced in. The great part is that we were in walking distance to a nice lake and beautiful green lush area. I would love to come back again!

I was able to hear people coming and going from next door rooms , lots of doors closing , hallway sounds and street sounds . Breakfast - clean area and decent for being included . Staff helpful .

A great middle-if-the-road option to spend a weekend in San Luis Obispo. Close to the freeway., close to downtown SLO, and anywhere else you would want to get too. Nothing fancy but not grungy either. Good enough for the price. Check-in was a little rocky, as we arrived around 10 pm and got the evening clerk, who seems like she needs to brush up on her training. Otherwise, everyone was very nice. The breakfast and coffee options were terrific. They serve breakfast in a conference room on the other side of the parking lot, which feels a little strange at first, but it's nice, as there is tons of space, and they have a lot of options. The property is equipped to welcome dogs, which is great for us. Just let them know at check-in that you have a dog so they can put you in a room close to the mini-dog park they have on the property.

This property overall is very clean and staff is very cordial and friendly. The room we had i think was recently remodeled. Some issues the toilet leaked and the toilet paper holder came off the wall. Beds are very hard. Woke up with hip pain. Pillows are very very soft no support. Just know the breakfast they offer is across the parking lot at Ihop. They dont tell you we found out by accident. We never saw the afternoon managers happy hour. Property is quiet. Good location.

Barely enough staff, so checkin took 25 minutes. Not enough breakfast food. TV did not have volume. Shower was broken. The area was loud and packed with retail chains. We would not choose this hotel again.

BW Plus Royal Oak - SLO
My stay at the BW Plus Royal Oak hotel in SLO was great. The entire staff was wonderful. Check-in was perfect, the staff was so friendly and inviting. The staff during the free breakfast was also super accommodating, friendly and helpful.

Great stay
From the moment I arrived I was created by the friendly hotel receptionists, check in was quick and easy. My room was clean very nice appreciated the microwave, mini fridge, and coffee machine inside the room, also loved that the room had a balcony where you could sit and relax have choice in the morning, hotel was nice had a pool and heated jacuzzi. Also wonderful detail they had free breakfast even include masks your own waffle section.All the employees encountered on my week stay were very friendly and always helpful great customer service so definitely be staying here again.

We picked this location due to close proximity to area we were needing to be in down in SLO. We have never been to the area and were pleasantly please with how centrally located this BW was to everything. The staff was amazing. Ms. Brittany was a doll.She has great energy for your Mon/Fri night beverage and karokee in the lobby. She made everyone feel comfortable and reminded all it was all in good fun.

This is a solid hotel, about what one would expect from a well-run Best Western. Where it sings is the staff. Everyone here is amazingly helpful. The front desk helped with everything from storing my bags for a bit to helping my daughter and I get in just a bit early, so we could rest from a hard trip to helping us figure out the city we accidentally found ourselves in. The breakfast staff was the same, easily meeting the kind of service I’d expect in a full-service restaurant. The food was standard, but exceptionally well-prepared. I’m well-aware none of this front facing work can happen without a ton of support from behind the scenes. Our room was immaculate. I travel a lot, and this level of professionalism, friendliness and service is beyond rare.

There’s nothing nice about the property and they’re under construction, so if you’d like to wake up to people, pounding and using machinery at 7 AM. No dining, except for a horrible free breakfast. The worst part was the people at the front desk. There is a girl that I checked on my first night. She couldn’t be more rude. They are lazy they will not go out of your way for you, and they are not nice. The maintenance man in the house cleaners are as kind as can be. They were the best thing about my stay and Louise believe it was, Brandon couldn’t have been more helpful!

Best Western Plus Royal Oak
Fairly new, clean, comfort hotel with great amenities, near freeway & shopping centers. Also, pet friendly with slightly lower pet rate per night & plenty of free parking. Having a nice park one block away was a plus for the pooch. Definitely worth returning to & recommended.

The hotel location was very good and the room was clean, but this cleanness was achieved by use of some type of chemicals that made the sleep in the room almost impossible. the chemical smell from the carpet was so strong that I had to sleep in the mask despite the use of AC and open patio door.
