Good overnight stop on our way up the coast

Posted 14-Sep-2014
Pros: Apple Farm is an experience.
Cons: More information on cashing the numerous vouchers.
Location: The hotel is a 20 minute walk into what is a very nice town
This hotel /B&B was recommended to us. It lived up to the recommendation. The decor was quite over the top. The rooms were all flowers and frills with a four poster bed and even flounces and frills round the bath. The rooms were a generous size and very comfortable. On arrival we were given home made cookies and a complimentary glass of wine . There was also tea and coffee in reception. We were also given discount vouchers for breakfast and a massage. Be warned and read the small print carefully we weren't able to use any of these. The breakfast voucher has to be cashed when ordering breakfast and the massage is only for specific treatments. Slightly frustrating.

Love Apple Farm environment

Posted 12-Jun-2014 on Hotels.com
We stay at Apple Farm whenever we're in SLO. The service is wonderful: there is a reception for new arrivals along with delicious cookies and charming decor. The pool was clean, warm, and inviting; but the hot tub had unsightly broken tile. The food and service at the Apple Farm Restaurant was very good. Unfortunately, the bed and pillows were both harder than we remembered and we didn't sleep as well as we expected.

It's all good…except...

The only real hitch came when we went to the room assigned for the first time—our room key opened the door, but we were met with someone else's luggage and an unmade bed. Obviously someone was still there! When we went to the re-assigned room, the room furnishings, while attractive, had a slightly "musty"/old bedding smell.

Great stay as always

Great room with a quiet stay. Never a disappointment! From the glass of wine and cookie at checkin, to the free apple juice in the room, we always feel welcome!

Quaint Hotel

We love the hotel - but we were disappointed with our room location. Avoid room 132 if you can - it is right next the cleaning staff room. So in the morning we had to hear the cleaning staff talking and yelling - definitely not relaxing. We also wish they would put the cookie tray back at night - we loved that. Other than that, our stay was wonderful - we recommend! It is close to downtown SLO and is a wonderful hotel. We always try to stay here when we come to SLO.

Warm, friendly staff, good restaurant, beautiful rooms and hallways in the main building, cookies, wine, a pool, and a jacuzzi! What more could one ask for?

blast from the past

This hotel thrilled our parents who are in their 70(s) and the facility is such that it would appeal to that generation. It's very dated and frilly with flower wallpaper and doilies... Everything was reasonably comfortable just very old school. Some might say quaint, but outdated may be a better word. The rooms were expensive for the amenities and the food was basic at the restaurant on site and also pricey. Was impressed by the chocolate chip cookies out for guests which really did taste like homemade. Nice thought put into having cider and scones and the cookies at check-in and throughout the day. We accomplished our goal by pleasing the family traveling with us to see a Cal Poly student in town, but certainly wouldn't go back under other circumstances.
