Super new hotel in a convient location, 10 minutes walk from Firenze SMN Central train station and 10 - 15 minutes walk to most main tourist attractions.
A Great hotel as a comfortable base, with the amenities almost making this a resort type hotel.
This July visit had a very cosmopolitan mix of young couples, older couples, young families, business people and holiday makers.
This newly built Hotel is therefore very clean with up-todate fixtures and fittings. Very contemporary design with all new high tech features. Air Con and Wi -fi A1.
2 Adults 1 Child- Was disappointed by the front desk when I first arrived. Receptionist was checking us in and then moved on to check someone else in. When I commented she said "well I can't have people waiting." I said, you have me waiting and I was here first. After that, everyone (including her) were very nice and helpful. AC didn't work as good as I'd like but it worked. Restaurant was terrific but not open on Sunday. David Museum is not open on Monday!
How can I possibly define in words how helpful, sincere and amazing the staff at Hotel Orto de Medici are? The front desk has dealt with our queries in most personalised yet professional manner and have resolved a minor issue with our hotel room instantaneously. What was even more impressive about this hotel was that staff at all levels were friendly, approachable and customer-focused during our 5 day stay.
The breakfast was a treat, freshly prepared and varied (e.g. no juice is made from concentrate etc). There are about 8-10 tables in the historical garden famous for its connection to Medici's family which gives a place an instant charm and enlightens the early start to the day in this most wonderful city! Another advantage is its location as it is within the 5-10 minutes walk to all major landmarks within Duomo, San Lorenzo, San Marco and Santa Maria Novella areas.
Ok, so we were meeting people staying at this hotel, so it wouldn't have been our first pick. It is great for a base of operations if you spend little or no time at all in the room. Our room had two half walls that separated two sleeping spaces, one had two twin beds, one had one twin bed, which is fine unless you have differing sleeping schedules (like, um, you know, after a long flight and across several time zones). In the middle was a central living space and the "kitchen" which didn't have any pots, pans, utensils etc. The bathroom did have a door and was separate from the room.
Our kid was sick so we spent more time in the room that we normally do when we travel so the lack of comfort was more apparent than usual. That being said, the room was always made up, the linens were clean and the front desk was very accommodating. The location is pretty good too, a simple walk out the door and down the street gets you to the Duomo. Overall a bit Spartan BUT definitely OK for on-the-go families traveling on a budget.
The staff at this hotel are amazing. They are helpful and very friendly. The wifi in the rooms were not the best however they had lots of seating area in the lobby to hangout. This hotel was within walking distance for everything.
The Hotel Panorama provides a great place to stay for time in Florence. It is a 5 to 10 minute walk to the Duomo and other central sites to the city, and has convenient access to the city bus system. Certainly the rooms are small, but well within the expectations of the price point. The roof terrace is the perfect place to have an end-of-the-day night cap with a view of the illuminated Duomo. The staff were very helpful in all aspects. There are plenty of wonderful places for a relaxing meal in a five to ten minute walk. The Hotel Panorama is a great value for Florence.

Hotel Panorama is centrally located surrounded by some important historical monuments: in front of us along Via Cavour lies …More
The hotel was about a 15 minute walk from the train station and wasn't too hard to find. The hotel staff was accommodating but when it came to the internet working they were very nonchalant. The room size was fine and the in room bathroom was spacious.
The centerpiece of this Florence neighborhood is the Basilica di San Lorenzo, one of the largest churches in the city. Located near the city's main market, the most celebrated aspect of this structure may be the Cappelle Medicee. Also notable is the Laurentian Library, which was conceived and built by Michelangelo.
