“annual trip to the Fairmont”
We stay at the Fairmont San Jose every year around Christmas so we can visit Christmas in the Park and the fair rides that are located right outside the hotel. There are some features of the Fairmont that we liked but are no longer available. For example, Christmas decorationsand the Gingerbread houses in the lobby. Also Hybrids used to park free overnight but are now half price. The coffee cart that used to be convenient in the lobby is no longer offered and coffee can be purchased at Starbucks two blocks away. Nevertheless, we like the atmosphere at the Fairmont and the nightly entertainment. I recommend getting a room in the main hotel rather than the adjoining building. The main hotel is older but has character. Join the Presidents club at the front desk to get free wi-fi in your room or you'll pay for that service.
“they charge you for everything such as hotel parking, internet service, and local calls.”

“No complaints at all.”
They checked me in early, the room was wonderful, the staff was great and the neighborhood was terrific.
“Nice downtown hotel”
It was a great place to stay - we had dinner a block away at original Joe's and then went to the Sharks game. It was a nice walk back to the hotel from the Shark tank. This is the second time we've done this overnight stay. The hotel staff is friendly and the place is clean. We'll be staying there again.
“always a great choice”
clean, friendly and consistent
“Staff and Room Service Food Extraordinary!”
Almost everything about my stay was perfect. Staff at check-in, valet parking and bar were friendly, accommdating and accurate. Room Service was the best ever. I've never had food of this quality in my room. Mike even went to the store to find the coffee ice cream I requested. Indonesian Vegetable Curry - who would order that in room service? It was fabulous. And, Ricky, who delivered the food both nights was wonderful. As a woman traveling alone, I will absolutely go back to this hotel. On the down side, the building is old and while attemtps have been made to spruce things up, there are maintenance issues...slow drains, coffee makers that don't function well, dirty corners, broken tiles in the shower...stuff that costs money and takes time but that do make a difference. Perfect? No. Almost perfect? yes.
“NIce hotel in downtown San Jose”
The room was very clean. The bathroom is huge! The hotel lobby is very nice. I was there for a conference, so needless to say, the location was perfect. Will come again.
“An Evening with Groucho Tour”
Hotel service was excellent. The restaurant and room service were prompt, friendly and eager to please. I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends and co-workers. The surrounding area has lots of restaurants, amenities - however within several blocks on there are some areas that are not walking around without a companion in.
“Great value and terrific staff”
Stayed here for the Rock n Roll marathon - great location, food, convenience, and value. Will definately be back next year!
“San Jose Fairmont”
My husband and I stayed at the Fairmont for 2 nights in late September and overall were very happy with our visit. The lobby is lovely and our room was spacious, well kept, and beautiful. We did get suckered into upgrading to a queen suite (it was our anniversary/babymoon after all) that we really didn't need. Keep in mind, valet parking can be a surprise (around $30 for 24 hours) but we were expecting it and the valets were quite courteous and helpful with directions. Mattress was fairly comfortable (especially considering i'm 6 months pregnant). The only issue was the shower head - it comes out like needles. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.
