“Great location, but expensive for quality of rooms”
Excellent location, with downtown Palo Alto and Stanford campus accessible by foot. Relatively close to train also, which is great those wanting to use it but can be heard. Nice outdoor pool, but bar area is average and rooms are average. Desk chair was not super comfortable, if you need to work for an extended period. Staff was friendly and helpful. Valet service was very prompt.
“Not bad for a high turnover hotel - a little tired though.”
We were there for the Stanford/Oregon Football game. The hotel staff was excellent - only down side was the hotel is well used - meaning getting a little dated and tired. Needs a face lift. The hall carpets were kind of smelly but nothing terrible. Just being honest. I would stay there again due to the proximity to Stanford Campus.
“Near the stadium”
Hotel was clean. Service was great except the front desk employee could have been a little nicer. We stayed here to watch the football game. Great location to the stadium...but beware a train runs along the backside of the hotel all day and night. I was slightly miffed that I payed A LOT of money for an extra night in one room and was charged $10.00 for parking!.. I was asked if I wanted self-parking and thought it was included, was not told that I'd be dinged for it! The setting of the hotel is really pretty. Also, there is no free internet and no fridge in the room. When we needed a roll-away bed for the second night...we were told they were "all out". No hot tub. Overall, I'd say I'd try to find somewhere better for that price, next time.
“Good location”
Good for Palo Alto, and a 1 minute walk to the Caltrain to get into the City.
“Smelly”
The hotel is reasonable for the area, well located but they really need to change the smelly carpets in the hallways. The rooms were fine, clean but you had to hold your breathe while walking to the room.
“Not Impressed”
Overall stay, not luxurious but comfortable. For the price, Ive been to better hotels. -No direct shuttle to Stanford Campus -walk to the train station nearby to connect with campus shuttle -Clean white sheets and cover -Room comfortable -small small gym -breakfast buffet $20 -internet $10 bucks per day. Service was slow. -building facade needs some remodeling
“Nice hotel. Not so friendly staff”
The hotel location can't be beat if you are visiting Stanford. The rooms are what you would expect from a Sheraton. However, all of the staff that I encountered were pretty unfriendly, especially the nighttime worker. In general, the front desk was very short with me and not very helpful.
“Satisfied except”
I find that generally service is lacking unless you tip them first other wise the hotel experience is ok
“Palo Alto Stay”
Our stay at this hotel was not without issues. First, upon arrival the requested room type was not available (even though the reservation was made two months ago). The hotel staff was very apologetic when making the room switch the following morning and even offered complimentary breakfast. The original room we were placed in was next to an equipment room where we were disturbed by a grinding 'start-up' sound that literally would occur every 60 seconds and this went all night long. Very annoying to say the least.
“Stanford trip”
This hotel was minutes away from Stanford University where we watched a Stanford football game. The hotel was busy due to several booked parties, but one of the hotel front desk personnel allowed me to do a pre checkin, that way my room would be ready when I returned from the game.
