“I would gladly stay again.”
Pleasant staff, very clean and quiet, adequate furnishings in good condition. Very good value for the area. I would gladly stay again.
“Plain and simple”
For such a plain and simple place it was rather expensive, though it advertises itself as inexpensive. Very quiet and for us convenient, with all necessities. The coffee was awful though.
“Go elsewhere if you can afford it”
This is a motel that charges a lot less than renting a small studio apartment in the same neighbourhood. But it is not maintained very well. Furniture is old and the place has bedbugs (I stayed in a twin bed room; one of the beds had bed bugs). A lot of the guests stay long-term (there are monthly rates available) and are not very noisy. However, the walls are thin, the floors creek and some guests need to go to work around 5 am. So you may wake up earlier than expected in the mornings. As a european, I would also not at all recommend the complimentary breakfast (choice of sugar, more sugar or most sugar). Cleaning was sub-par; some days the rubbish bins would not even be emptied. Insects thrive in the carpet since it is rarely vacuumed properly.
“Trip to Stanford area.”
The value was comparable to the location.
“Overprice and underwhelming”
Somebody should create a web based service to connect people wanting clean, comfortable rooms at a reasonable price in the Palo Alto area. Something like Couchsurfers but for professionals. This place like almost all the other "budget" hotels in the area felt like a crash pad in the combat zone. There was a guy above me walking back and forth all night which made the floor creak. I had no idea what he was doing but ended up hammering on the ceiling to get him to stop. The bed was unbelievably lumpy, like someone had put the mattress thru the blender. There was a pervasive smell of mold, like all the cheap rooms out here, where fungus thrives on the cheap, petrochemical based furnishings without adequate light or air. The security was a joke, with the window frames made of cheap plastic and falling apart. And breakfast as advertised was a bag wonderbread which you could stick in an old toaster oven. Strangely enough however I slept like a log.
“A fine place to sleep”
I had plenty of things to do in Palo Alto, so I spent little time at the hotel. It was not luxurious by any means, but there was plenty of reading light and the bed was comfortable. Also, the room was clean and quiet and the price was very reasonable. For people who just need a peaceful place to sleep, it's a good deal.
“Not the best choice”
Oak Motel, was a bit run down. Breakfast was printed on the wall served til 9:30, we arrived at 9:15, and all the food had been put away, so we had to wait for them to get it all out again. Just plain cereal and milk, coffee and packaged rolls. There was coffee but no juice or fruit. The bathroom was not in top shape, needs a remodel. Window in restroom did not open, there was no fan and grout and tiles were messy, looked like it was just a temporary fix it job. The beds were comfortable. When we went to eat, we got locked out of our room, and so I had to go back to the office and get the magnet key "refixed" to be able to get back in to the room. The office is around the corner from the rooms. It was nice and quiet, the lot across from the room was pretty to view. It was a little pricey for what we got, just a bed and a bowl of cereal.
“A great Hotel”
I have a blood disorder and so does my two girls and they have severe allgerys and im really picky..and this place was a good place i will return.
“Simple Place”
A simple hotel. Nothing Fancy just a simple place.
