“Comfortable room”
The room had been updated and it was roomy and clean. The bed with the down (felt like it) comforter was especially nice to sleep on.
“A nice hotel staffed by "nice" people”
The staff and management are warm and courteous, I really liked the hotel. Not a new building but very roomy and well appointed furnishings. Again I stress the professional attitude and kindness of the staff was refreshing!
“EXTREMELY LOUD!”
This hotel is located on a very busy thoroughfare in Menlo Park. It is so loud that the hotel provides ear plugs on the bedstand. If noise doesn't bother you, it is a good value for the area.
“HUSKIES FAN”
Polite and helpful staff. Good coffee, free internet, wide screen tv, 2.5 miles to Stanford Stadium. The hotel is good, the Stanford Band sucks.
“C.S. Colorado”
Well appointed spacious rooms. Walking distance to Menlo Park restaurants book store and coffee shops. Not too far from Stanford University.
“Comfortable and Good Location”
The hotel is falls in the price range and features of a more modest hotel (think Holiday Inn) as opposed to something high-end (a Westin or Marriott). It's a very comfortable, clean, quiet hotel in a good location for some shopping and CalTrain. The staff is also very responsive and focused on making your stay a good one. They provide a free continental breakfast complete with hot waffles and there are plenty of other places to eat within a few blocks of the hotel if you want to venture afield. We thought it was an outstanding value for the money and would definitely stay here again.
“Worst motel I've stayed in”
Called the Menlo Park Inn. This was a plain and simple old motel in a noisy main street location. Way, way overpriced. Worst motel I think I've stayed at. They tried to put lipstick on the pig....They failed.
“Pleasant Surprise”
We had a very comfortable room, lots of space, located at the back away from the road so very little road noise, good breakfast including waffle maker, reasonably priced, good location near Cafe Borrone (very popular for brunch).
“Comfortable, clean, decent location”
Older hotel but modernly appointed. Rooms and bathrooms were spotless, bed (King Size) was large and comfortable. It's on a busy road and by a train station, so you get a lot of road noise until about 11, when everything slows down. Sound insulation could be better. If you're working in the area or visiting Stanford, this will work fine.
“A motel -- but an excellent motel, at that”
For a quick night in town, this hit the spot. It's basically just a converted motel, but done very nicely, with comfortable beds, free wifi, flat-screen TV, little kitchen area, and modern deco touches. The Belgian waffle machine was a big hit with the kids at breakfast.
