City-view guestrooms offer beds with pillowtop mattresses, triple sheets, and down duvets and pillows. Marble-and-tile bathrooms include pedestal sinks, telephone extensions, makeup/shaving mirrors, and Lather bath products. Terry-cloth bathrobes are provided. Guestrooms are air conditioned, and also have shuttered windows that open.
Wired high-speed Internet access (surcharge) and two multi-line phones with voice mail are standard amenities. Newspapers and wireless Internet access are complimentary.
In-room entertainment includes TVs with complimentary HBO, VCR/DVD players, CD player/clock radios, and minibars. Approximately 300 titles are available in the hotel's complimentary VHS/DVD library.

La Pastaia Restaurant - Acclaimed rustic Italian cuisine and seasonal menus include pastas, pizzas, salads, soups, paninis, seafood, meats, and vegetarian dishes. Fine wine list. Lunch and dinner.
Hedley Club Lounge - Lobby-level lounge with original artwork and sculptures, fireplace, and chandelier. Appetizers and cocktails. Live jazz, Friday and Saturday nights. Open from late afternoon to late evening.
De Anza Breakfast Room - Mezzanine-level room with hand-painted walls and murals dating from 1931. Daily Continental or hot breakfasts.
Caffe La Pastaia - Casual Italian-style café. Light meals. Daily lunch.
“Raid Our Pantry” with complimentary cookies, snacks, and make-your-own sandwiches is provided on the second floor from 10 PM to 5 AM (hours subject to change).
Room service - Available from early morning to late evening.

“Excellent Hotel for Business or Pleasure”
I have stayed here twice now and I can't rate the hotel high enough. I found the staff very helpful, the facilities excellent, I love the "raid our pantry" idea for snacks out of hours. Location is good too for the downtown area and the HP Pavilion etc.
“Very friendly hotel.”
Despite the fact that San Jose is not the most lively city this hotel provided a comfortable and friendly stay. Claiming to be San Jose's oldest hotel and renovated in the 90's this hotel is aging well and still has plenty of character. Rooms are comfortable and very clean even if the appliances (TV etc) do have a 90's feel to them, they all worked just fine. A bonus surprise was the late night 'pantry' whereby a selection of snacks are made available for guests between the hours of 10pm and 5am.
