“great, everything ,loved it . My hotel of choice next visit to San Jose”

I had a meeting at my corperate office and needed a place to stay. Expedia suggested this hotel. It was so comfortable and the staff was very accomodating. There was so much to dowitin walking distance. Restaurants and fast food, lots of entertainment. Can't say enough about The Four Point Sheraton Hotel downtown San Jose.

Area recommendations

I would recomend the all the shops they have. Everything is in walking distance. I ate at PFChangs and had a wonderful meal. Also johnny Rockets was across the street.

Getting around

Everything you need to see or do is in walking distance. Yellow Cab Taxi was always right there when I didn't feel like walking. Just call and they are there in 5 minutes.

“Saturday Night is Party Night - Was not a party for us”

I decided on the Four Point Sheraton because we were dropping my son off for another year at SJSU. This hotel is really close to the campus so we didn't have a long drive back and forth. Little did we know the "parking" we paid $20 for that we were told we could get in and out of ALL day and night was not to be. The hotel has a lounge/restaurant that becomes the night spot for downtown San Jose on Saturday night. When we returned from the movies at 12:30 AM, which was across the street, we found the entrance to the hotel basically cut-off from all the party-goers at the lounge. We tried to take our son back to the dormitory but found our truck was buried in cars from all the party-goers; so much for being able to use our vehicle all night long. So we had to muscle our way through the crowd to the hotel entrance to ask the desk to call a cab, which we paid for, to take our son to the school. So, if you are not a night person and will be in your hotel on Saturday by 10 PM you will be fine - the hotel is beautiful and in downtown San Jose where there are lots of dining options, the movie theater and museums to go to. But after 10 PM your on your own! Oh, and be prepared to be sort of accosted by all the semi-drunk party-goers walking the streets. But like my husband said "what did you expect for a downtown hotel?" Well with a title like "Four Seasons Sheraton" and paying $20 for parking I expected to have access to my truck and a nice night out in San Jose.

Area recommendations

The downtown area was wonderful during the day and early evening hours. The dining has unlimited options and the theater is not humongous but offers all the first run movies on large screens. The art museum is also downtown and even though we did not get to it it looked awesome! We also traveled to Santa Cruz which is off the 17 which in itself is a beautiful drive! In Santa Cruz there is the boardwalk and a really cool drive along the cliff shore. The entire area is an endless mecca of wonderful things to do from the very expensive to the free.

“Nice room for a reasonable price”

The furniture was new, bathroom nice, and the overall condition of the hotel is nice. One drawback was the parking. It's outside and not secure. We didn't have any problems, but who wants to be that one customer that has a break in. Don't leave any valuables in the car. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends for the price we paid.

“Good hotel”

Good hotel conveniently located close to the conference centre. Very clean and well maintained. Comfy room and bed. Good breakfast in the morning, though I'm sure I could find better and cheaper if I walked out of the hotel (as you always can for all hotels). Self-parking a little expensive but not daylight robbery ($20/day). High speed Internet worked well though, as I went off season, the hotel wasn't really busy so I assume I wasn't sharing it with so many people. Overall a good hotel which I'd recommend to others.

“Fantastic location and a bit of old San Jose”

Location and peacefulness make this hotel a true winner. On my trip I visited family next door and because of location, did not have to leave the area. The only drawback was the heating system in the room. It took some time to adjust it properly but overall no complaints. There are a number a restaurants and attractions in the immediate area. Also the area is a hub for public transit. Will stay there again.

Area recommendations

Immediate downtown area quite fun (15 movie screens within a block, University two blocks away. Also area close to Santana Row also a lot of fun. You can also take the light rail to Campbell (great restaurants, etc.)
