The hotel is outdated. The hotel location is to far away from San Jose convention center. Not a hotel for business travel.

Pros: Cleanliness, parking, & access to highways.
We stayed 2 nights at the Carlyle while visiting family in the area. We found the hotel very clean; well appointed; well staffed & friendly; free parking garage; convenient to highways, restaurants, & misc shops. The complimentary breakfast was reasonable.

What no breakfast!?

I came to this hotel because it had a breakfast and I wanted to grab coffee and a bite to eat before my morning meeting, but I found out that there was no breakfast when I came down in the morning! Not happy! I should have been told when I checked in there was not going to be breakfast. I won't go back. Plus the bed was too soft

Pros: Free parking. Quiet room.
Cons: Breakfast quality; smell of cigarette smoke in the hall leading to non-smoking rooms.
Location: Very average street location. Nothing special nearby.
Bath room sink was partly clogged with slow drain. Breakfast was was very small and unappetizing. Handle to one chair almost came off when I tried to move it. The bed was queen size instead of promised king size.. This is a 2 star hotel in my opinion.

We used the hotel as our in-town bedroom, while we visited with family. The hotel has just the basic with no extras. The room space was tight.

Needs a facelift!!!

Needs a face lift, noisy fan in bathroom should be replaced, the King bed sunk in the middle, needs new bedding and mattress, towels were old and small, breakfast was OK, I'll give the place a 2.

Definitely wouldn't stay here again

Immediately walking into the hotel you notice the smell. Not sure if it smelled old or what the smell was but it was awful. I usually look forward to going back to my hotel and relaxing but I was avoiding going back to this one. The bathroom was very large but the decor of the room was old too. And there was something red splattered in various parts on the walls in the bedroom. The free breakfast was pretty sad. They didn't even have real coffee creamer, only the powdered kind. Thankfully there was a Starbucks next door. Staff was very friendly and helpful which is about the only thing nice I could say about his hotel.
