The Hotel of Last Resort

Posted 24-Mar-2015
Pros: It prevented us from having to sleep in our car.
Cons: I believe it is time for a complete makeover.
Location: Not much of anything.
The first impression was that it is very tricky to get the car into the garage (No parking lot or street parking available). Second impression was a very friendly, helpful desk clerk. Third impression was that the hotel has seen better days (carpet is threadbare, floor molding missing in room, everything appeared old and well used). The room was reasonably clean. The air-conditioner was very loud and had to be turned off in order to get to sleep. After turning the air-conditioner off, the noise from the highway kept us awake in a hot room anyway.

Business Trip

Posted 20-Mar-2015
Pros: it had a bed
Cons: it should be razed and they should put a homeless shelter there instead because the accommodations would probably be better.
Location: Taco Bell, Jack n the Box, smoke shops and massage parlors
This place is off a busy street next to a freeway so all the rooms on the street will get all the traffic noise. Run down room that smells of cigarette smoke Bathroom not clean and hardly any hot water. Breakfast was terrible with food that tasted several days old. Management grumpy and try avoiding you if they saw you coming.

The hotel is outdated. The hotel location is to far away from San Jose convention center. Not a hotel for business travel.

Pros: Cleanliness, parking, & access to highways.
We stayed 2 nights at the Carlyle while visiting family in the area. We found the hotel very clean; well appointed; well staffed & friendly; free parking garage; convenient to highways, restaurants, & misc shops. The complimentary breakfast was reasonable.

What no breakfast!?

Posted 21-Jan-2015
I came to this hotel because it had a breakfast and I wanted to grab coffee and a bite to eat before my morning meeting, but I found out that there was no breakfast when I came down in the morning! Not happy! I should have been told when I checked in there was not going to be breakfast. I won't go back. Plus the bed was too soft

Iwas fairly priced was on sale for 135$ king bed first floor with patio . However we were they're durng the storm and had water combing up underneath the sliding door which we had to keep towels on and stayed to smell like mold our 3rd night . The bed was comfy tho room was ok .I enjoyed the patio. However despite this damage to our room the did not offer to move us until our last night . Did not offer a discount .actually we had another couple join us for an hour or so and the front desk called and said our guests had to go or we had to pay anther $40 which web did but that silly for only two hours. Then the day of check out we over spelt were threatened to have the sheriff called on us to have us removed it was only 1 pm and we were almost done packing up . Not to mention to whole top floor and elevater floodedo while we were there . Our friends couldn't even rent a room die to the this flood . Ayain we were not offered any kind on dicount our compensation just rudeness upin our late check out . breakfast was ok .eggs were gross u had to make your own wa gels which weye pretty good but still .. should have been p remade and we were not allowed to take any food to ou r rooms even our leftovers . We weye maDE to throw them Away . Idk if I would go back they're again maybe if they gave us a discount or buy one get one free for all the trouble it caused.

A little disappointed

Posted 16-Dec-2014 on Hotels.com
It's a well decorate hotel, the room was comfortable, but not cleaned well. There were still remnants from the prior guest. The breakfast was awful. This is a sister to the Bristol, which was wonderful. I dont know why such a discrepancy between the two.

Not a 3 star hotel

Posted 09-Dec-2014
Pros: Free parking. Quiet room.
Cons: Breakfast quality; smell of cigarette smoke in the hall leading to non-smoking rooms.
Location: Very average street location. Nothing special nearby.
Bath room sink was partly clogged with slow drain. Breakfast was was very small and unappetizing. Handle to one chair almost came off when I tried to move it. The bed was queen size instead of promised king size.. This is a 2 star hotel in my opinion.

Stay at the Bristol Hotel instead

Posted 08-Dec-2014 on Hotels.com
Stay at the Bristol Hotel (sister property - same owners) instead. The management here did not care to accommodate the guests. Felt like a Days Inn or Motel 6, not a 3-star hotel Breakfast was bland and limited. Same items every day. Business center was a joke and printer needed new toner cartridge. Not fixed by management. Had to crawl on floor, under table, and behind china cabinet to insert USB stick into business center computer. Not enough electrical outlets in the room. Not adequate counter top space in the bathroom.

Basic hotel

Posted 02-Dec-2014
We used the hotel as our in-town bedroom, while we visited with family. The hotel has just the basic with no extras. The room space was tight.
