Vacation

Posted 21-Sep-2014
Pros: We were comfortable and the staff really looked after us for the most part. We had a driver, Miguel, who drove us to most places when we were ready.
Cons: The lighting was very bad in the room. There were no hand rails to grab on to by the toilet. Poor communication between tours bus and staff.
Location: There were many shops, museums, etc. within 30 minute walking distance. We mostly used the hotel drivers which were very reasonable. Also a few rest
One of the nicest handicapped rooms we've stayed in. The room was large enough to move around in without hitting furniture, etc. There was plenty of sitting room, two sofa beds and a desk chair. Unlike many other places, we had a decent view out of our window. We had drivers who would drive us into the city ($6) each trip. Our driver was really great! His name was Miguel (Michael)?? Once I established interaction with the front desk, we also learned that Miquel would take us on day trips which we did at less than what the tours would take us on. My biggest complaint would be that they set us up on a tour, only to learn the next morning that the tour would not take the wheelchair. This cost us a day of our vacation.

Great central location

Posted 25-Aug-2014
Pros: Central location- great for what we needed
Cons: give wash rags (we like to wash with more than our hands) and an extra towel per 2 guests. (one for body and one for hair- women like this)
Location: central to many things
The hotel was overall very good- The room was extremely clean but there was trash under the bed We reserved 2 rooms for 5 people and stayed here for 8 days. 2 nights of our stay the air condition seemed to be shut off in all guest rooms. The fan would run all night but would not blow cold air. The hotel staff could not explain why it didn't work on the 2 evenings.

The people at the front desk were consistently Rude, everything that was asked to them was very short and like it was an inconvenience for them. Will never stay there again.

Nice Business Hotel

Posted 22-Jul-2014
Pros: Free wi fi, free international calling, lots of choices for breakfast, comfortable beds, nice bathrooms with pretty high quality products.
Cons: some rooms need double paned glass because of street noise
Location: far from center of city but near a bus line, huge park and good Peruvian Restaurant, Machu Pichu. I took s cab to the Gold and Jade Museum, wondeful
Was at this hotel because of a tour. The hotel seems to be used by s number of tour groups and business travelers. The location is on the outskirts of San Jose, about a 30 minute drive from the airport. If you want to get down to the central part of the city you can cab it, or catch a bus on the central avenue located out the hotels back enterance. The staff is pleasent and oblidging, the rooms, (I booked a king premium) were nice, comfortable with good bathrooms, showeres, comfortable beds and free international calls snd wi fi. What else can you ask for? The included breakfast is good with quite a few choices, and dinner in the restaurant very nice with quite a few Tapas style choices. All in all a nice hotel, with good amenities.

Very quiet room for a Sabana location

Posted 16-Jul-2014
Pros: Location
We had a nice room with a great view over the Sabana park. We were there to see the Costa Rica football team return from the Brazil World Cup and enjoyed the celebrations from our bird's eye vantage point. Breakfast was very ample and nice at this hotel - much better than some of the more upmarket locations we stayed at on our trip.

Nice but loud weekends

Posted 06-Jul-2014
The hotel itself was great. The breakfast was good, no complaints about the staff, who all spoke pretty good English and were accommodating whenever I asked for anything. However I have never stayed at a hotel where outside music was so audible. There is a discoteca in the building across the street and I could actually feel the bass from inside my room until at least 11 at night. I did not ask for another room farther away but if I had I'm sure they would have moved me. The hotel is located near a park and a 10 to 15 min ride outside of downtown San jose, which is good for avoiding noisy streets, and crowded areas.
