A little gem in the middle of San Jose

Posted 07-Oct-2014
Pros: Location, staff, food !!!
Location: You have banks, Mercado Central, Museums near by... very busy area
Once you get to San Jose, its nice to come across such well kept, clean hotel with a staff that makes your stay very pleasant. The hotel is under renovation so we requested a room a bit higher than to avoid the noise. They accommodated us right away, upgraded our room to a suite and had the best nights sleeping piece and quiet. Staff, everyone from the porter to the ladies who maintain the rooms, servers on the restaurant, everyone is lovely. The food on the second floor for breakfast is delish. Great pinto and scramble eggs. They even got me natilla as requested. What a great experience. Worth every penny. I will come back !!!

Hotel Presidente - San Jose, Costa Rica

Posted 17-Sep-2014
Pros: Centrally located in the heart of San Jose.
Cons: This hotel does not allow guests or visitors in the hotel room. I was not told this until after I check-in to the hotel! I was very disappointed.
Location: Near restaurants, stores, libraries, museums.
The hotel was elegant, very safe, clean with good staff.

Great place to stay in San Jose

Posted 16-Sep-2014
Cons: If ice machines were available it would not require the guest to call down to order ice every time they need ice.
Location: Centrally located and any tour will pick you up from here. Great location
Hotel Presidente was excellent the front desk were more than helpful and could not have been more pleasant. The breakfast was delicious and the facilities were very clean. Even though there was little construction the staff went out of there way to make sure that it did not effect our stay.

Nice hotel but beware of construction!

Posted 12-Sep-2014
My stay would have been much better if there had not been major renovations. Sounds of a jack hammer woke me up very early on several occasions. However, the hotel was very clean, safe, and family friendly. The staff was also very attentive and helpful. I recommend this hotel but make sure the construction has been completed.

Great hotel right in the heart of San Jose!

The hotel is a great find. It's pedestrian friendly so if you're in the city without a car, it's perfect. The rooms are classy and very clean. Breakfast was included with our stay and it was delicious. Would totally stay here again if I'm in San Jose!

Great Stay at Hotel Presidente, Costa Rica

Posted 17-Aug-2014
Pros: Close to Museums and market. Cleanliness. Comfortable. Staff very very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Explain its location and how to get to better on the hotel description.
Location: Hard to find. Hard to Park Walking distance to main attractions and museums.
My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Presidente Costa Rica. It is very hard to find the Hotel. Our GPS did not find it and when we asked people the directions were very confusing. They said go 100 meters, that meant 1 block but on the streets that are only one way traffic it is was hard to find it. We had to park 1 block away in a public parking lot then walk on a street that is for pedestrians only. Once we got to the hotel the staff were incredible helpful and nice. One person escorted us to our car so we did not get lost again finding the hotel parking garage. The checking in was easy and we had a surprised upgrade to a suite. This was on the 4th floor, very clean and comfortable and quiet. It has a nice jacuzzi in the middle of the spacious room. Hotel is under construction but did not bothered us. The buffet breakfast was included. It was great with fresh fruit and the cafe con leche was delicious. Try the pineapple jelly. You will love it. This hotel has an access to a casino on the 2nd floor so you never have to walk outside to get to it. It is situated in the heart of downtown San Jose, in the middle of busy streets full of people selling stuff. Just walking distance to Barrio Chino and The jade museum and Mercado de artesanias. Overall stay was very good.

Nice hotel, not so nice neighborhood

Posted 11-Aug-2014
Good location right in the middle of the city, close to the arts and craft market and museums. That said, the surroundings look really dodgy and commercial at first! But the newly renovated inside is really lovely. Also, the breakfast was very good. Would stay here again.
