“Amazingly helpful and kind! Great location!”

This was a great place! The rooms were average, smaller, but the owner and front desk people were so incredibly helpful and kind. Breakfast was great, and the price was very good. It was in a great location. Cannot say enough how great of a stay this was.

“Looking forward to next years vacation”

We stayed 2 nights at La Amistad. The gentlemen at the check in were more than helpful and spoke " english" . The last night our room was unsatisfactory. (The shower did not drain; no shower mat was provided; and the soap dish was dirty; also a light was out above the bed) They offered a change of room; but we had just got in from Montverde at 6pm and we extremely tired. Just wanted to shower and eat dinner. The service and food in the dining area was very good and was a real treat to have breakfast included with the room. All in all...it was very pleasant.

Area recommendations
Arenal....because of the Volcano and the view.
Dining
Be careful if you are on a budget where you go to eat. The so called "Soda" are the best and the prices are very reasonable. To bad we found that out after our first day and after spending $70 US dollars for lunch. Definitely not worth the money for what we got.

“An excellent deal in a fun city”

Hotel Amistad is a large, charmingly elegant, boutiquesh hotel with reasonably priced accomodations. If you're a walker it is strategically located just a bit beyond the edge of the central city with some really good restaurants nearby not to mention the hotel's own restaurant. Taxi service is also easy. Yes, I can recommend La Amistad, no problem.
