“Unique experience”
Quaint hotels with many perks-daily cooked breakfast, water and sodas in frig, wine and snacks nightly, gas fireplace in room.Down Knob Hill on Bush, 10 minute walk from Moscone Center.Bathroom clean, but small (bedroom was large)and street noise significant at times. Overall I rate a very nice experience and would gladly return.
“Second Stay at White Swan -- will return again!”
This was our second stay at the White Swan Inn. Great location and wonderful staff. Will return again on our next stay!
“Very quiet for an old converted apartment building.”
Had a very enjoyable time. The food was good, the service was good & they were very accommodating. Would love to return soon!
“A bit too homey”
For all the good reviews and for the price I expected a more updated hotel. There was a "favorite Aunt's house" feel to it. Not to say we don't all adore auntie' but we don't want to pay the high price for her eclectic house.
“Very nice hotel”
We stayed at White Swan Inn for 6 nights and were very happy with it,overall the hotel is alittle worn looking but it has character and our room was large and very comfortable,it was a nice touch having homemade cookies in the foyer and they were different everyday and yummy! The staff were helpful and friendly and while the breakfast was basic it was more than adequate. The hotel is a short walk from Union Square though uphill coming back but we didn't find this a problem at all.
“Unique & Comfortable”
Our stay at the White Swan Hotel was very good. The breakfast, which is included in the price, has everything you need and there is tea/coffee available all day. There is a wine and nibbles treat in the early evening, which is included and very much appreciated. Unfortunately, we didn't always make it back in time. The room was decorated like an English country sitting room and very spacious. Unfortunately there wasn't a view, but included a fridge, tea/coffee maker and sink. The room was always kept clean and laundry/towels changed whenever needed. It is an old building so there are creaky floorboards and our bed was quite noisy every time you turned over. The old-fashioned lift is a bonus. All the staff were very helpful and will arrange Alcatraz trips on-line, print off boarding passes and sort out anything else you need help with.
“Good value for downtown location”
We really enjoyed the hotel and its staff. Staff were always friendly and helpful. The wine tasting sessions in the late afternoon, as well as, the breakfasts in the morning were nicely laid out and the sitting room was lovely and inviting. I would recommend using the parking facilities they use. Whenever we needed our car, it was there in a blink...one needs to plan on a little wait so plan ahead. Check-in and out was fast and easy. We certainly loved the friendly staff and would recommend this hotel. Our room faced the street so we had some night-time noise but it was nothing we lost sleep over. Bed was terrific and although older than many hotels, it had its own charm. We loved it!
“nice hotel”
It was very nice to stay in this hotel. The location and service were great! Hot/cold breakfast was included, however if it can start a little bit earlier, that will be even better--we had to leave at 7am, but breakfast won't start until 8am during the weekends. The only complaint we had is too noisy in our room--we were given a room at the first floor and next to the front desk. We can hear all the guests in/out of the hotel, walking up/down the stairs, walking in the room, and even the staff preparing the breakfast below us.
“would book it again , liked the old world charm”
liked the hotel and the old world charm , nice and clean place , very nice morining meal , staff was very helpful and outing with all our questions.
“excellent and charming hotel”
This is hotel has his personal "old english" decoration that you won't find anywhere else. It gives a comfy and relaxing feeling. Also the lounge area, where, from 5h30 pm you can have a complimentary glass of wine and cakes or savouries in front of a fire place, you can relaxe as it is very cosy. Appreciated, specially after a long day of sightseeing accross San Francisco. And the staff is very friendly and helpfull.Recommend.
