Great Location!

Posted 15-Apr-2015
We had a great stay at Villa Florence! I have stayed here before and love the location. The rooms have all been remodeled and it seemed much roomier than before. The staff was fantastic and very helpful. We will come here again on our next visit!

Old world elegance but modern with great service

Posted 14-Apr-2015
Pros: The staff especially the front desk (guy with interesting mustache) was great. Concierge was also really great.
Cons: I wish the room had been a bit larger. It was a bit comical to have to bend down or slide across the bed to get from one side of the room to another.
Location: The location is great in the center of downtown SF. It's a minute from Sax's Fifth Avenue, Tiffany & Co, great shopping. Chinatown is close by.
It was really frustrating to get in front of the hotel and I had to circle around in SF traffic many times. I finally called the front desk and spoke to the guy with the interesting mustache who was a gem and talked me off the ledge. He had concierge and the valet meet me when I drove around again. I thought that was a first class thing to do. The hotel has an old but chic and modern feel. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the very large TV. Great valet service. I liked texting when I needed my car and getting it in about 15 minutes. I love Lavazza coffee but the coffee maker didn't work and wasn't plugged in. It should have been replaced. The TV was huge and a nice touch. Nice products in the bathroom. The restaurant was nice. I really liked the look and feel.

Great hotel at Union Square

Posted 13-Apr-2015
Pros: Location, confort, staff.
Cons: Lighting on the hallways... Kinda creepy at night.
Location: China town, Market st., Union Square, Sushi Boat (just around the corner)
Me and some friends made a trip to SF to celebrate my birthday and stayed at Villa Florence, first time there for all of us. We loved it! We got the biggest room on the 7th floor right on the corner with the view to Powell St. The location of the hotel is perfect. Half a block to Union square, a couple of blocks to the Powell Cable Car and BART station. You can walk to market street and china town. And the staff are very friendly, we had some homemade limoncello and biscotti at the lobby. And the Italian restaurant there is a must try. There is a Starbucks next door, but before you go get your usual Latte, try the one at the lobby, you won't regret it. We will be staying here again, for sure!

Nice hotel close to Union Square

Posted 10-Apr-2015
Pros: Location, modern look of rooms and that the rooms had just been renovated.
Cons: Valet parking is offsite somewhere so it takes several minutes to get your car. I think they share the service with another hotel nearby.
Location: If the only thing I can slightly complain about is the valet service then the hotel did its job. You will enjoy staying here.
Great hotel right by Union Square and the cable car. All the high end shops are nearby at Union Square. Walgreens just down the street for anything small that you need and where you can buy public transportation passes.

Pros: Great lobby, food, restaurant, location
Location: Great location for cable car and tram lines. Also in the middle of beautiful stores.
One of the staff was brilliant in telling us how to get around SF using the public transport and where to sit to get the best views etc...

For a first-time visitor to San Francisco

Posted 07-Apr-2015
I had no expectations as I arrived in San Francisco for some company meetings. I'm a software engineer and hadn't yet traveled to meetings at our SF office. After a very early morning flight, lots of meetings, and miles of walking, I arrived at Villa Florence. From the outside and the lobby, the hotel looked top notch. Once I got into the elevator and walked the halls, the hallways and the quality of the building itself seemed dingy and creaky. However, (and it's a big however) the room itself was fantastic! The bed and sheets and pillows were comfortable and clean. The enormous tv was a welcome surprise. The bathroom was very nice and out of the ordinary. There were little details that were included everyday that I thought were great. The atmosphere around the hotel was great, the lobby was great, the hallways are gross, but the rooms are great!

Perfekte Citylage mit cablecar vor der Tür

Posted 07-Apr-2015
Pros: Lage und Preis-Leistungsverhältnis
Location: Halber Block entfernt vom Union- Square mit Cable car vor der Tür. Market Street in 1,5 Block Entfernung. Sightseeing Shopping

Convenient because in Union Square

Posted 06-Apr-2015
There is only Valet Parking which is very expensive. Was difficult to pull up to the front because there was no where to pull up. Had to circle several times and call the hotel to tell them we are trying to get to the hotel.
