Union Square Hotel. Heart of SF's premier shoppin.

Posted 20-Dec-2014
Unfortunate timing as there was a protest in the square that made driving to hotel impossible. We had to park in a parking facility 6 blocks from the hotel.

Aging hotel

Posted 17-Dec-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Needs a significant upgrade and not just cosmetic.
The idea of boutique hotel sounded good. Conveniently located on Powell, close to everything. Nice lobby, the neighboring restaurant Kuletos is outstanding. Then you get to your room. My junior "suite" was old, tired, and not all the clean it appeared. The single glazed bathroom window wouldn't close completely and I had to put a towel on the sill to keep out the cold. The ancient air conditioner would not blow any heat at all. There are picture around showing their room upgrades coming soon. But if they don't put in new double glazed windows to keep out the street noise stay away. Very disappointed.

Another enjoyable stay.

Posted 17-Dec-2014
Pros: The strongest claim to fame is the wonderful dedication of the staff to cover any points of concern for their guests.
Cons: The rooms need a freshen up but that is planned already.
Location: This Hotel well situated for any tourist to undertake many San Francisco attractions. It has a superb restaurant and a good coffee shop.
This is my third visit. Hotel needs a little bit of tender loving care - but will soon be undergoing renovations, which will brighten it up enormously.

Great Little Boutique Hotel In Union Square

Posted 15-Dec-2014
Pros: Great, central location. Next to Kuleto's Italian Restaurant.
Cons: It's an old building so it's not going to be fancy or brand newish. Valet Parking will take about 20 minutes to retrieve your car.
Location: Shopping, shopping and shopping for the ladies!!!!
Nice, clean and cute hotel in the middle of Union Square. Stayed twice in a week. Got an old-European charm to it. Famous Kuleto's downstairs for outstanding Italian.

Really cool hotel. The best location in town

Posted 15-Dec-2014
We got upgraded to a suite on arrival. The hotel rooms are a little dated but they are really clean and the hotel location is just the best ever. The hotel is going to be renovated in 2015 and this will only further improve it. The staff are super friendly

Overall it was great. Great location.

Posted 12-Dec-2014
Pros: The staff was very friendly and the convenience of the location to Union Square can't be beat.
Cons: Make sure your guests get to check in on time. Always expected to check out on time.
Location: Perfect! Union square right there. Lots of eateries etc.
When we arrived, probably about 45 minutes prior to check-in, the room was not yet ready. It was supposed to be ready by 3:00. We were limited on time since we only had one night at the hotel. The room was not ready until about 3:30. This is not a long wait. However, there should not have been any wait. Also unfortunately, but out of hotels hands, there was bad weather the following day and the hotel lost power. That was a bummer as we would have preferred to stay right there and enjoy breakfast, coffee etc. Had to get ready early so we could go elsewhere to find breakfast. I know this was an inconvenience for all of the hotel staff too. My itinerary said valet parking was $54.00. Ended up being $58.00 plus a $8.00 service tax etc. So parking was a little more than I had expected, however, not having to worry about it was a very big plus.

Power outage

Posted 12-Dec-2014
Hotel lost power and doesn't have any back up generators. They handed out glow sticks which was all the light available. The shower was cold because the water heater wasn't working. And they hotel only compensated by taking $20 off the stay.

Overpriced.

Posted 10-Dec-2014
Although this hotel's location is within walking distance of Union Square, it is a older hotel with small rooms with no views and overpriced. Bathrooms are very small and have no fan. Taking a shower requires opening the window which is dangerously close to the neighboring room and therefore severely lacking in privacy.

Nice hotel right next to Union Square

Posted 07-Dec-2014
This wonderful boutique hotel was perfect. Right next to shopping, restaurants, Cable Car and other public transportation. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again.
