Union Square older but well located hotel

Posted 02-May-2015
Pros: Location, restaurant
Cons: Elevators are older, small and unreliable - only one of two working during entire week long stay
Location: Union Square speaks for itself
All good except through wall A/C permits excessive street noise

stylish hotel Rooms need redesign

Posted 29-Apr-2015
Pros: Food, staff and decor.
Cons: Room layout.
Location: A bit of a drive, about 15 minutes, to Golden Gate Park. Very enjoyable museums and gardens. Allow time as there is lots to see.
Lovely hotel. Coffee bar was enjoyable. Great staff. Restaurant Koletos was delicious The room was not enjoyable. Difficult to maneuver in room. Couldn't open mini bar door as it was too close to the bed. No curtains over windows resulted in room being fully illuminated during night from street lights. Bathroom sink area required creative maneuvering to wash; way too small. Heater ran entire time. Had hotel engineer look at it. He was not able to resolve. Highly recommend you stop by for coffee/muffin at the coffee bar or dinner at Kuletos. Enjoy the hotel decor. Would not recommend staying overnight until they redesign guest rooms.

An ok hotel at the heart of Union Square

Posted 28-Apr-2015
The hotel is easy to find. The ambience of the hotel is nice. The staff there are super friendly as well. As for the room it had a few nice touches such as the flower head board, giant TV with cable and was fairly quiet. As for the draw backs, the bed was uncomfortable and the sheets weren't so white, stains... There was very little water pressure for the shower and it also would alternate between super hot then cool.. Also the room is heated and cooled by a in windows unit. I also got stuck in one of the small elevators for about 5 minutes. I would recommend this place to someone if they wanted a place to crash for a night or two but if your looking for something more comfortable & relaxing I would look else where.

Great hotel since it's next to all the shopping!

Posted 21-Apr-2015
It was a great hotel since it felt very fancy. Just didn't like that it took me a while to cancel my other room since I had a medical emergency.

Quick and qiet

Posted 21-Apr-2015
We came in super late and they were very courteous and helpful. We were only going to be there a few hours to sleep as one of us had a surgery early the next morning. They gave us a quiet little room and sent us on our way. The concierge was very helpful and knowledgable.

Great Location!

Posted 15-Apr-2015
We had a great stay at Villa Florence! I have stayed here before and love the location. The rooms have all been remodeled and it seemed much roomier than before. The staff was fantastic and very helpful. We will come here again on our next visit!

Old world elegance but modern with great service

Posted 14-Apr-2015
Pros: The staff especially the front desk (guy with interesting mustache) was great. Concierge was also really great.
Cons: I wish the room had been a bit larger. It was a bit comical to have to bend down or slide across the bed to get from one side of the room to another.
Location: The location is great in the center of downtown SF. It's a minute from Sax's Fifth Avenue, Tiffany & Co, great shopping. Chinatown is close by.
It was really frustrating to get in front of the hotel and I had to circle around in SF traffic many times. I finally called the front desk and spoke to the guy with the interesting mustache who was a gem and talked me off the ledge. He had concierge and the valet meet me when I drove around again. I thought that was a first class thing to do. The hotel has an old but chic and modern feel. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the very large TV. Great valet service. I liked texting when I needed my car and getting it in about 15 minutes. I love Lavazza coffee but the coffee maker didn't work and wasn't plugged in. It should have been replaced. The TV was huge and a nice touch. Nice products in the bathroom. The restaurant was nice. I really liked the look and feel.
