“adequate”

This hotel is situated in a quiet neighborhood, there are 2-3 restaurants near by (dinner: $15-30 p.p.) and one that serves a simple breakfast ($6-12). The hotel offers 2 kinds of cereal, 1 type of milk, 1 type of oatmeal, hot water and coffee served in their temporary office, where one can eat in standing position. Hotel is quiet and clean. You can park your car on the parking lot in the inner courtyard for about $14 per day. Tv sets are old and are showing only limited number of channels. 3 blocks from the "crookedest street"; few bus lines can connect you with pretty much rest of the city ($2 p.p.), as public transportation in San Francisco is pretty good. If you are good walker you can get to many points of interest on foot, even across this hilly city. Overall: cheap and clean. Adequate.

“woukd never go back”

Worst place I have stayed in. Don't believe the one review that says the bad ratings shown were for the ''other'' travelodge. That's what I did and it was a big mistake.

The sheraton or hilton inn if younwant to be by fishermans wharf. Or westin st francis at union square.

“Knights on the Bay”

Interestingly, Expedia rates this higher than the survey email says it is rated. We thought the location was great and the room was clean and tidy. No complaints and would come back quite happily. Renos for the office make that a little cramped, but that was not an issue nor that important for the stay.

the staff were not incredibly friendly or helpful but our room was extremely large with a triangle roof which helped add to the spacious feeling of the room.

“"We'll be back"”

We had a great time, the hotel management was very helpful with the few minor set backs we had which had nothing to do with the hotel. We plan to come back, hopefully before the year is up.

“Ok for the money”

The Hotel is ideally situated to see San Francisco . It's on Lombard street which at one end has the crooked street. Great to walk to. The outside and corriders are a little scuffy but our room was clean even if it did need a freshening up. Parking was free. Breakfast is very simple cereal, muffin and coffee. It is served up in the very small lobby which is odd and you have to take the food back to your room. Would definately stay there again. It's close to all the sights and reasonably priced.

Area recommendations

We were only in town for a couple of days . 1) Alcatraz - brillaint tour and commentary. 2)Cycle over the Bridge and visit the seaside towns for lunch. You will see real American towns . Not so touristy 3) Lombard Street . Very pretty built on a steep road . 4) Tram ride . 5) Fishermans Wharf . Just wander around but look out for the sealions. Amazing to see them in the City.

“not impressed”

In need of a facelift. Very noisy road and very noisy neighbours. Walls so thin you could here everything. Not much sleep.Must say though that the reception staff were good. Would have moved to another hotel if we could find one at a reasonable cost that was available.
